Core “Business Start Up” Training

Ii have a remodeling business. I would like to share before and after pics. I do not know if all themes can accomodate.

Hey check out my site www.mydiyremodel.com it may be able to give you an idea of what not to do! lol

Yes starting out you just want to learn and take in every bit of the training and spend less time worrying over theme's design and such. Like Caylynn said. There is plenty of learning to do which is way more important then the theme or design of a site, at this point. Content and well placed ads, pictures, links, etc...is what you want to focus on. 3 months from now you may realize you like a certain theme better then the one you first started. That is okay, because most will allow you to make a change to another with just a click of a button. So, continue the training!

Thanks Rick. Working on before and after pics next.

Yes, Stephanek any theme will work. You have two siterubix sites to start with. Use one for your first site and the other for a test site. Make sure it is a responsive theme. Also make sure there is support for the theme and whether it has been updated recently and has updated regularly in the past.

There are four categories, featured - popular - latest - filter. The last one is where you can search by colors and how you want to format your site.

You can also search by type of business. i.e. photography, magazine, newspaper.

There are several blogs and trainings on choosing a theme. Use the search box at the top.

I like to scroll through themes. There are two I use now thanks to Trialynn (one of the many wonderful WA helpers).

I wish I had all this information when I first started. Am so happy to help. Just choose one that strikes you. Don't spend a lot of time because you want to continue through the training and get started.
Take it step by step and keep positive!

Welcome back. Looking forward to continuing to follow you. ^_~

So considerate of you to respond at length. I will check out the referrals. And you are right, there can be many distractions, so I will apply this new information to the 2nd site for experimentation. I hope I understand correctly, that a theme can be changed at any time.
Stephanie

Have received considerable help, so am glad to pass on what I have learned. WA is a help you and pay it forward kind of membership.

Yes, you can change the theme. Review your site before you click update. Make sure you backup your site onto your computer or into dropbox.

You might consider a child theme so any customizations you make remain when the theme updates.

I make a habit of deactivating any editor plugins and looking at my changelog. Live and learn, had an incompatibility issue. ^_~
