You don't have a destiny! You've been lied to.
We all think there is an over arching destiny or destination to our life where truthfully you don't have a destiny. You've been lied to.
our destiny is to express ourselves and find our excitement…you see
When you align yourself with your hearts purpose…how you feel. What makes you happy
And living that truth that resonates inside you. You will discover that there is no actual purpose. You are already on purpose. The trick is find what excites you.
Welcome to Mann Enlightened. My name is Ryan Mann and in this post we’ll be explore finding your purpose….
I'm sure much like myself. Many of you have been in a situation, be it at work, with friends or acquaintances and everything inside you is screaming don’t do this or don’t be here. Like an overwhelming sense screaming from your gut that something feels out of place. Like you’re doing the wrong thing. To the point where you are self sabotaging yourself and or your situation. This more often than not is your internal compass saying you are not meant to be doing this or to place yourself in that situation. Firstly this is not your fault. In fact at the time, it may have been the right decision, but we find that over time that you don’t hold the same passion for it. Even sometimes explaining it to others as if you can not grow anymore. Like you’ve reached a bottleneck. So we convince ourselves to STICK WITH IT, HOLD ON, THAT BIG PROMOTION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. Only to see it be given to someone else.
So we hold ourselves ransom. Holding the opinions of others and feeling like failures because you didn’t stick with it or complete the task. That could be one of 2 things either our own guilt because of outside expectations of others and our families or the bigger thing, being too afraid to leave our comfort zone. Saying things like ITS A STEADY WELL RESPECTED JOB. I WOULD NEVER FIND ANOTHER JOB LIKE THIS AT MY AGE. WHAT ABOUT RETIREMENT? Which are all scary and very real thoughts but no one is saying that you should take a blind leap and go find Buddha but once you take that first step you may notice that it got easier and you were enjoying it
In another instant it could be your situation or environment coming down on you. You may feel this intense feeling of being trapped or a sense of claustrophobia. A sense of you have to escape or hide going into hermit mode if you will.
Now if you experience that, you should absolutely celebrate it. Consider this as a message from the universe telling you that you and your current vibration are too large for this situation.
So you pull back and almost hide from everything and everyone you know. This my friends is your evolution.
I remember a wonderful story told by a Rabbi about lobsters I once heard. Yes, Lobsters
We all know lobsters have hard protective shell to protects the soft tissue inside. But the problem is as the lobster grows its shell does not. So what ends up happening is the lobster will retreat and hide under a rock. Hidden from the world and any dangers that may befall it. It will literally shed its hard outer exterior only leaving its soft body exposed as its new form now emerges and then rebuilds a new external as an evolved, stronger and bigger lobster.
There is no other other way for it to grow. It has to shed its old shell and retreats into hiding and emerges stronger and bigger.
We ourselves do this and unfortunately those who care for us the most don’t always understand.
It is biologically true that you are not the same person you were 7 years ago. Your cells and you evolve over time and this process is happening so slowly that we don’t even notice it. But sometimes for us to exact massive change and not only physical we need to pull back, hide and emerge stronger, bigger and better than before. There are hundreds of other analogies that could support this argument and they all hold the same sentiment.
The truth for this change though is feeling our bodies excitement. It is literally our hearts energy pouring out and expressing that we are in alignment with who we are and the change that we are going to exact into this world.
It’s like anything new. If you haven’t been to the gym in years you’re not gonna start doing 20 reps of 500 pounds per set. You start small. Doing a little each day, creating momentum. And then you add a new thing little by little.
If we understand that we can make choices based on our excitement and that at the same time the opposite of that can be true.
Do that thing till you feel that you can not go any further. When it gets to that point appreciate the situation, celebrate it and then move on to the next thing. This could be something as simple as going for a walk, speaking with your family and friends, baking, painting or meditation Literally anything that brings your heart joy at that moment. At that moment being the key phrase. If you have not read Eckhart Tolle’s “the Power of Now” or his follow up book “the new earth” Eckhart has a wonderful way of expressing the power of being present and feeling in the moment. And it is in these moments that you will find your heart sing. It’s literally a gut feel and this works for all things that can bring you joy as well pain. By becoming more aware of this internal compass you will find yourself in more joyful moments and excitement. You see, Finding excitement and bring joy into your present moment is your purpose.
The more you do that you will find that there is more synchronicity will appear in your life and you would be able to develop more passion. That passion is what will carry you and allow you to feel better a majority of the time.
If we consider people who aren’t necessarily successful by monetary standards but are living blissful, joyful lives we will notice that all of them are doing things that bring them joy and excitement. We find that these people almost have a blind focus on what we would call success but which most of them will will describe as joyful living. The money is simply a by product. But we are all to afraid of following our own compass that we hold our selves back.
Now in that sentiment if we consider these people we can see that on average there are 3 major things that all of these people share. If everyone in society was doing what they love to do. I’m a firm believer that our society would transform for the better. Now I am a realist and appreciate that not everyone has made this choice because of super extenuating circumstances but if we do it in little steps and small pieces we may find that we can slowly start building momentum to the point that it becomes a major part of our lives.
1st thing is to simply ask the question: what do you like to do. What sort of books do you read, what shows or music holds your attention. What do you often find yourself doing in those moments. Where are your thoughts in that time. And you’ll notice that when you are doing those things that time tends to move much quicker. You enter something known as the flow state. I know for me one of my greatest passions in this world is draw and paint and I have found in those moments time literally flies. I have lost 8 hrs before in one single drawing. Almost working like a man possessed or at least a "Mann" in the state flow. You’ll often hear musicians, intellectuals, authors, artists and professional athletes often talk about this flow state. Where it almost feels like they were channeling the natural energies of the universe. You see they attune themselves to a higher frequency where they would describe the sensation of almost having an outter body experience and the energy and creativity was pouring through them and into this reality. The big trick is just to ask the question and feel it with in yourself.
2nd. Step outside of your comfort zone. Any person who has obtained a level of success has had to at some level step outside their comfort zone and do something that they could never see themselves doing and making something that was otherwise outside of themselves visible. In other words, an opportunity that was never in your line of site now becomes visible to you because you are not operating from the same mindset as you were before. Even Einstein was quoted before with saying that you can solve a problem with the same mind that created it. You have to physically step outside of yourself and get out of your own way. If you choose to do the same things with the same mindset as before you are only putting yourself at a disadvantage. All you would continue to do is create the same results. You will then find in the future that as you step outside of yourself and start creating new things and environments for yourself. You will discover new new experiences that you can learn from. Even if the experience was a negative one, you can still look back on it and learn from that experience.
3rd thing. You gotta be hungry. If you’re excited about that thing you’ll find that it feels good. You feel motivated to accomplish that task. You’ll notice you enter the flow state more frequently. Its why you’re excited about it because its what you are meant to be doing. Now you could argue this and say “ah yes but that’s how I felt about a lot of things, and look how that turned out.” that maybe true but you took action towards that thing. You got out of your own way. You learnt from that experience and I’m pretty damn sure you were not the same person after that experience as you were before you attempted it. Investigate those moments. What about that situation made you take action. What was your reason. And alot of us may find that it had very little to do with prosperity. Really think about those moments.
4rth Now that being said I have discovered Over time that there is a simple tool that we all have at our disposal and that tool is way to define ourselves in a way that choosing what makes us feel excitement and pleasure and what brings us pain. The idea is that we will always move in the direction that we believe brings us pleasure and will always move away from things that we believe brings us pain. As example if we considered Cake. A highly pleasurable thing for pretty much everyone. But if we were attempting to eat healthier and avoid white sugars we can apply the pain of perhaps not being able to enjoy long walks or hikes with our family children because our weight was an issue and was impacting our overall health. It should then be easier for someone to define themselves and their choices as they have now switched the modalities and their definition of pain vs pleasure. Anyone can change any area of their life by using this tool because they can their belief attached to that thing and how they feel about it.
So key point I’m trying to make with that and telling you about that tool is that you don’t have to change your life to enjoy it. You simply need to change the context at what you looking at that you thought brought you discomfort or pleasure. You can find your bliss right now. You can live your best life right now. You just need to step out of your current bubble and look at it from a different perspective.
I do this in my own life by changing the things I would otherwise find monotonous and mundane. By looking at those things and reframing them from a new perspective I have found those things to bring me great joy and they are quite literally a pleasure to accomplish
We all have unlimited potential inside of us. We can all literally, do have or be anything we want in this life and we have to do is remove the limitations we set up for ourselves and get out of our own way.
We all are born with massive potential but as we grow older we apply these caps on our potential and setup a frame work of how things should be done. Beliefs that tell us you have to do all this to get this. Get a degree and put yourself in mountains of debt so you can become successful and get married and have the white picket fence and the 2.5 kids.
You can do what your passionate about any time in your life in fact most of those people living their passion often live longer lives due to a more joyful living experience and reduced stress levels. Just saying.
The reality is if you like my friend the lobster make the change on the inside. The reality in your outside will reflect that too.
