I've asked this previously, but still no closer to a solution.
I've worked out that my site plussizedressing.com was not getting indexed due to some duplicate content issu
I had a similar issue when i started out.
I had a website in place before i came here but was not happy with the platform or the service. When i came to WA i asked a few questions and i took all my old site material and started applying it to the new word press platform from here within WA.
I was also concerned about duplicate content and asked 'how can it be duplicate if i have removed and deleted the old site'?
I was to told to go ahead and put some of the old material in place onto the new project and to write new and fresh material too.
So far I have 43 Pages/Posts and 35 are indexed.... and it has taken a long time and I am also concerned that the 8 pages that never seem to get indexed are the ones with the material from the old site.
If i was you i would completely rewrite everything to a new site to avoid this confusion.
Hope this helps you
Chris
Thanks Chris!
Do you mean I could afford to put the content currently on there onto a new domain?
I have also copyscape checked every single page, to be safe and it's fine.
It was helpful, thankyou! :)
Cheers
Jen
That is what I did ... not all of it but some of it... I closed my old site down and deleted it all... but before that i took a lot of the material from it ...
When i opened the new site here at WA.. i pasted some of the material back.. again not all of it.. and made some changes too.
Since then though and for some reason my webmaster tools always shows 8 pages waiting to be indexed, yet does not say there are any errors.
So I am not sure if these 8 pages are the pages which i pasted the old material.
With that in mind it might be better to rewrite it so there is no way it can be duplicate content before you post it to your new site.
If my pages go up in the indexing I will let you know, but i suspect it roots from this problem.
Interesting, thanks for your help!
I'm fairly certain this is the issue, my other site (for bootcamp) is already indexed and it's much newer...
Yes it is something to consider... I would say maybe get some higher knowledge on it...
I thought I did that at the time and I asked many people here and they said yeah no problem go ahead... and now I am in this position and not knowing what the problem is.
Maybe PM Kyle? he is pretty good at coming back to us with solid information...
He was the one who discovered it was duplicate content, but I will PM him. Good idea! hehe
Chris - the idea I just mentioned on your recent question also applies here
Site:domainname.com -
But use your old domain name. See if Google still has them indexed. if it does then you need to get Google to remove i.e. de-index those pages from it's search results. Then when resubmit your sitemap and see if they then get indexed.
Has Google still got your old pages indexed? If so that may well be the problem. Need to get them de-indexed. Otherwise your new pages will show as duplicate content.
The only thing that is indexed is my sitemap, I have fetched a couple of posts but not the duplicate ones. Any ideas?
great idea buddy, I just did that and It looks like nothing is indexed from the old pages!!
In webmaster tools you need to go to the Google Index tab on the left and then click Remove URLs ... then from the new page Create a New Removal request... then submit....
This well de-index the URL you specify

Is it possible to get indexed after fixing the issue?

I'm just curious when writing about other online marketing products (As I'm doing the Affiliate Bootcamp).
I've noticed on a couple of products comments about privacy and
Kyle covers this in the Bootcamp, he says just because you do a screenshot does not make it yours, and that it will vary a lot, either it was free to you from the beginning or they have restrictions and you always have to find out.
I'll have to get back to you on this, it is the lesson where he shows how to do screenshots, early on I think, but can't say for sure right now
I do screen shots of their products and use them on my site. Here check out how I do it on one of my sites. http://tomreviews.net

What do you do about copyright when writing product reviews?

HI all,
I get asked a lot and have been reading a lot about sourcing images for blog posts. I recently came across an article where a blogger revealed that she was in the
Lots of good ideas here. Also, your phone/camera is a great way to take photos of anything that you like. You can use any picture that you take online and as you are out and about doing your daily activities, just pay attention to what is around you as you can likely get lots of your images for your product reviews/content by snapping photos.
Also, if you are an affiliate of Amazon, you can use any of their millions of product images on their site.
Good idea Kyle! The phone photo thing seems kind of obvious now I think about it haha
That's true about Amazon. I forgot to mention how great Shopstyle is as well. I actually prefer their widgets to Amazon.

Hi,
This might be a question for Kyle & Carson but I just noticed the email address in my profile was misspelled and then I went to change it and it said it's taken!</
I would send in a ticket on the build your website button, there is a button to ask your question
Do you mean in your account settings at WA? If so, you should be able to add a new email address and be sure to save it. It should replace the one you had there before. ~Jude
Thanks Jude, yeah I did that but I can't save the correct one in there - seems a bit strange to me! And non-secure :/
If you're receiving WA notifications to the correct email address, it could be a cache issue with your browser.
Clear the temporary cache in your browser. That may clear it. Or log in with another browser and see if it's the same issue.
