It's Summer Ya'll! Time Passes So Quickly!
I know I haven't been around much, and I am hoping that will change very soon. I miss everyone and the interaction, but I was recently dealt a family tragedy which has hit me very hard. Our dog of 15 years was diagnosed with acute kidney failure and passed away within 3 days of the diagnosis. It was totally unexpected, and the cause is still not known of how the symptoms came on so quickly. I've been trying to deal with it, but it has brought my motivation to an almost dead stop. I am hoping that Summer will help me get out of the hole I have fallen into.
I am trying to keep up with my blog, and emails. If I have missed something from someone, please bear with me and be assured that I will get back with you.
Until then, hold your pets and family close, and above all, share your blessings,
-Kathy

We lost our black lab last year. He and my wife were especially close. He was released from Canine Companions (our local service dog center). They said he would be a little autistic. We have an autistic grandson which accounts for the very strong bond he established with my wife.
She walked him everyday (rain or shine) in our hilly neighborhood for 9+ years. It was a healthy activity for both of them, but that stopped when we had the front lawn removed in favor of ground cover last summer. The project was a little noisy, and after that Gaiton refused to come out to the front to walk.
His emotional make up deteriorated to the point that he would not leave the back deck. After being observed and examined by the Vets at CCI, they recommended he be put down. My wife took this very hard. She stopped walking and has since become mobility challenged.
So I understand your feelings. I hope things are getting back to normal for you.
