Insight On Google Ranking From Personal Experience
When it comes to Google ranking you might feel many emotions during the course of your blogging. I know I have and still do.

It's commonly admitted that no one really knows all the factors that come in to play when it comes to google rankings and their algorithm.
That being said, many factors are accepted to be included and Quality Content is likely the most important of them all. I'll explain what I mean by telling the story of one of my posts.
Google Ranking of Business Letter Format - Addressed To Impress
I wrote this post about 3 months back. Interestingly the same amount of time Kyle says things usually start to happen on your site.

I researched the keyword Business Letter Format and really liked what I saw. This keyword gets 35500 monthly searches, with traffic listed at 6035. Doesn't look like low hanging fruit does it?
I clicked the competition and saw 173. A bit high, but I thought it would be worth a try. The immediate google ranking placed on page 10, went to 11 and 12, and got as low as page 8.

Improving Posts To Better Google Ranking
Even at this many searches page 8 and up doesn't really help much, so I added more quality content to an already good post (or so I thought).

I resubmitted the post to webmaster, but it placed the same and within a day was gone from any findable google ranking.
I've seen this happen to my posts before. Sometimes they come back, some have still remained missing.
And Then Suddenly Today...
This morning I noticed that I had a hit on this post from analytics. It has been quite a while since I checked on it so I went incognito and plugged in the keyword.

The result? Middle of page 2. Now I also have two extensive reviews I wrote about a month after the business letter post. One about Elegant Themes, and the other about Dreamhost. These two services offer an extensive array of products, and both reviews topped well over 2500 words.
I thought they would rank well for sure, but one landed on page 6 and the other 7. I checked them today (after leaving well alone for awhile), and they have both moved to page 3. These two posts are monetized and will pay if they start getting decent traffic!
The Moral Of The Story About Google Ranking
I think we all know if we've written the best we could, or if we gave it half measures. Kyle has taught us the right way, although poor work and impatience often work against us. We let it do that, or we persevere. The choice is ours.

This is proof right here that it works. It won't happen overnight. Do not be discouraged if your post doesn't place where you hoped it would. It takes time. If you've written high quality content, it will improve.
Keep at it! Stay sane. Remember to sleep! Don't ignore your loved ones. Get outside. If you aren't enjoying life, it'll likely come through in your writing.
Till next time stay well. Geoff.
