Know the race you're in.
I have been part of WA for 11 days now, and two things have become very clear since early on:
1. You have to take your time and understand the lessons and complete each task.
2. While the community is great and so are the resources, you are the one who actually needs to build your business. Meaning, the decision of running with this is yours and yours alone.
I have seen a lot of new members join after me. I have seen a lot of financial and non financial goals written and shared with the community. A lot of them have been very inspiring. There is nothing better than seeing people sharing their goals and dreams with practically "strangers" (since you are asked to do it as soon as you join in). It takes a lot of courage to state your goals. Once you do so, you know you are held accountable, and not mainly by other people, it's mostly us who hold ourselves accountable.
If you are aiming for the stars, or if, just like me, you want to make enough money in the first 30 to have my business pay for this membership, let's get one thing straight:
Know the Race You're In!
What do I mean by this? Well it's very simple. An olympian who trains for the 100 meter race will never sign up for a marathon in the Olympics. And a marathon olympian will never sign up for the 100 meter race in the Olympics either. They training is different, their tactics are different, and their expectations are different.
If you think you are a sprinter, train like one. If you want to reach your goals in three months, you have got to be living and breathing WA material for long hours everyday and every night. If you think you are more of a marathon runner, set your goals down. Build your stamina, so when your hit those bumps, you won't run out of breath.
So let's be realistic! You can't expect to make 1 million dollars the first year and dedicate "a couple of hours" to this. If that was the case, this would be a "get-rich-quick" type of thing, and I am pretty sure, it is not. But I know for a fact, we can all get to the million dollar mark. How fast? That's up to each of us.
Do you know the race you're in?

I have to be the sprinter as much as I am able to. I need money soon or I will not be able to afford the monthly tuition. I love your post! Definitely gave me food for thought!
You sound like much success is in your future!

Hi Cathy,
I have to admit, just like you I always hear the voice of sprinter in my head, but when surrounded with three little kids and a part time job on top of that, I have to take a step back and make a personal reality check.
I wrote this more out of frustration (because I can't dedicate 6-10 hrs a day to this), but when I really thought about it I said I should have my goals as realistic as possible. If not, reality will not be very generous with me.
For now slow and steady is my pace.
God speed to you,
And see you at the top..;)
Great post Sonja. I really like your second point. Everything needed for success is all right here. Each one of us has to choose how to best put it to work.
I personally am training for a marathon .Unless by some chance I come up with a method of turning lead into gold I don't think I will be making that hundred grand this month.
