Calling All E-Book Pros: Advice Needed for Launching My E-Book + Video Strategy
Hey WA friends!
If we haven’t crossed paths yet, I’m Sonia, a lifelong coffee lover, science grad turned content creator, affiliate marketer, and founder of Aroma Expeditions. I’ve spent years turning complex topics (like coffee science and digital marketing) into actionable guides and blog posts, and now…I’m brewing up my next big digital adventure!
Lately, I’ve been inspired by all the WA members and creators turning their expertise into e-books and pairing them with videos for extra reach and revenue. I’m not a YouTuber (yet!), but I keep seeing success stories from folks who take what they already know, blog posts, tutorials, even social media tips, and transform them into value-packed digital products. And honestly, it feels like the perfect time to try it for myself.
My Current Strategy: Repurposing, Expanding, and Reaching New Audiences
Here’s my plan, in a nutshell:
- Repurpose my best blog content and tutorials into short, actionable e-books (in the coffee niche, affiliate marketing, or wherever my experience fits).
- Use e-books to reach people who prefer downloadable resources or want something to keep on hand, offline.
- Test supporting these e-books with video content, maybe YouTube shorts, teaser clips, or AI voiceover videos built from e-book highlights. I love the idea of using video as both a promo tool and a way to give readers a quick “taste” before they dive in.
- The goal? Work smarter, not harder, maximizing each piece of content so it gets new life across multiple channels.
Where to Sell? I’m Stuck Between Platforms!
Here’s where I’m hoping for some WA wisdom…
- Fourthwall looks super easy (and affordable) for selling digital downloads, just a 3% fee, and no need for tech headaches. But I don’t know anyone who’s actually using it for e-books.
- Amazon KDP obviously has massive reach and credibility, but with higher fees (and a lot more competition).
- There’s also the option to sell on my own website (Aroma Expeditions), which means I’d own the customer relationship and build my list, but it’s a bit more work up front.
- I’m genuinely torn, which path is best for creators just starting to branch into digital products? Is one platform better for building an audience, or for simplicity and long-term profit?
Why I’m Turning to the WA Community
I know there are folks here who have “been there, done that”, whether you’ve published on Amazon, Gumroad, your own site, or a brand new storefront. I’d love your honest, real-world advice.
What actually worked for you? What would you do differently? Where did you stumble, and what made it easier?
Plus, if you’ve ever turned your own blog posts or guides into an e-book, or combined them with video or multimedia, I’d especially love to hear how it went. Did it help you reach a new audience? Did one channel drive better results?
My Key Questions for You
- Have you repurposed blog content or tutorials into an e-book? Any dos or don’ts?
- Which platform(s) did you use to sell: Amazon, Fourthwall, your own site, or something else? Why?
- What were the biggest pros and cons of each platform from your experience?
- Did you support or promote your e-book with video, YouTube, or multimedia? What worked?
- What were your biggest hurdles, surprises, or lessons learned?
- Any practical tips on pricing, promotion, design, or using e-books to build your list?
Extra points for honesty, war stories, and “I wish I’d known this before” moments!
What’s Next? I’ll Share What I Learn
I plan to pull together the best advice from this post and share it back here with the WA community, maybe as a follow-up post, or even as a case study for others thinking about digital products. If you’re just starting out, jump in and ask your own questions, too. Let’s make this a true group learning experience!
Drop your stories, tips, and experiences in the comments, or DM if you’d rather chat privately. Thanks in advance for helping a fellow creator avoid rookie mistakes (and maybe inspiring my next round of coffee-fueled content)!
Cheers, Sonia

Hi Sonia!
I am new at the book publishing gig, too.
I used ChatGPT to review my website and create a book, chapter by chapter. It reviewed my website and created an outline for me, then asked me to choose URLs that I wanted it to use to compile content for the book. Once it was completed with each chapter, it gave me a Word document to download.
It was a long process, but it was quicker than extracting from each blog post and trying to create a coherent book.
This is my first book, and I am going to try the KDP program.
That sounds like a solid plan. Did you give the link of your home page to ChatGPT or some other way for it to review your website?
Hey Howard,
Thanks so much for sharing your experience—and welcome to the e-book adventure club! I love hearing how you used ChatGPT to streamline the whole process, from outlining to pulling together chapters. That sounds way more efficient than copying and pasting each post (been there, done that… coffee required!).
I’m really curious to see how KDP works out for you. Please keep us posted on your results and any tips you pick up along the way. It’s great to know others are figuring this out step by step too.
Wishing you tons of success with your first book launch!
Cheers,
Sonia
I gave it the URL and asked it to create an outline for a book. It reviewed the website and suggested an outline, which I liked.
Will do, Sonia!
Im in the process of doing the same. I gave the chat AI my url and it gave me an outline and helped with creating the text.. I’m working on the Word doc now.
Very cool!
