Week for recovery
So... I've been doing the Smolov squat program for six weeks so far, been squating heavier and heavier every week, 4 times a week. It has had me doubt I could continue at times, but I've completed every rep of every workout. A true test, mentally and physically. The program is at the halfway point, this week I'll be retesting my one-rep max. The test is Saturday so the rest of the week is light work. Much better to a little something rather than sit at home bored as hell. My right shoulder has been bothering me for some time, so I chose to do some arm and pressing movements on the left side only, while keeping right side work to rehab-type exercises.
I've had the (right side) shoulder injury for a long time, but it doesn't stop me from getting strong. Instead, I've adjusted my training to work around it, focusing on my squat while rehabbing the shoulder. I'll keep updates so you can follow along. Check back Saturday for results of my max test, and ill break down how the final 7 weeks of the program look.
