Are you Crazy - if You Pursue Your Goal?
Some people may think you are crazy if you want to be self-employed. Some people may think up you are crazy if you want to build an online business. Some people may be convinced you are crazy if you plan to make money with your website.
They may be concerned that you are going to get scammed. That is a fair concern. Unfortunately too many people get scammed with get-rich-quick schemes. Wealthy Affiliate is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. Successful affiliate marketing websites take time. There is no such thing as get-rich-quick unless you when the lottery.
Many people may try to dissuade you from any type of entrepreneurial pursuit because they are risk averse. They may be unwilling or unable to commit to the long hours that are necessary to build a business from scratch. Sure they may stay safe and comfortable in their safe zone. Don’t let them persuade you to quit.
Last weekend, I went to a beach bonfire. I experienced a similar scenario. One of my friends came up with the idea of jumping over the fire. One guy that’s into martial arts immediately got up and jumped over it. His wife, pictured above, was going to but chickened out. I admire the fact she tried. I decided that since I have a broken toe, I wouldn’t be able to land properly. So I passed -this time. The guy that suggested it, jumped over it twice I hope that I could get a better picture the second time.
The guys that jumped the fire had no regrets. They thought jumping over the fire was fun challenge. However, the vast majority of people in the group thought it was a crazy idea. So they didn’t even think about getting up out of their comfortable chair.
One of the things that I like about WA is that it enables us to surround ourselves with other like-minded people. This helps us to ignore the people that think we are crazy.

Most people I talk with about my business roll their eyes because it is not something they know. When I mention that Google and Yahoo and dozens of sites do the same thing, they think differently. The absolute biggest mistake I ever made in my life was when a friend, a number of years ago, told me I should get involved in Bitcoin.... $225/coin. I laughed because I didn't understand. I think it is important to try the jump if at all possible.
I will admit, it can be scary to take the time to learn about something you don’t understand.
Coming from an accounting background, I still have not taken the time to understand Bitcoin.
I agree with you, a willingness to take the jump if at all possible is a good thing.
I have gotten to the point where I quit sharing anything with those around me still sitting in their comfort zones, while I'm busy taking chances.
That guy jumping over the fire looks like he's long legged and nimble - almost makes it look easy.

I too am like you. I try to remind myself to never discuss business with my family. I will never change their mind and vice versa.
The guy jumping didn’t seem to be that long legged. However he did say that he was into martial arts. So I would assume he was very nimble. Yet one of most athletic guys there didn’t even try.

Nice analogy. It must be a mindset thing but those who start their own business are probably more inclined to jump the fire. What would have been interesting is throwing someone over the fire in the chair…lol. That could be considered a tad more risky.

It is sometime best to ignore the white blouse all around us and focus on where we want to go with our lives.
That may mean coming out of our comfort zone and they bew ideas and things
As long as it keeps us moving and improving our personal growth, then it is the best decision for us to take
