Avoiding Plagiarism

I just saw someone post a question on what to do to avoid plagiarism. That's a very good question and not many people think of it these days. Taking few college courses recently and having to write many, many research papers I always go back to the guidelines suggested in https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/589/2/

This particular website has great information but you can also just google "how to avoid plagiarism" and many ivy league colleges offer this information for free as a PDF download or a webpage.

Personally I always run anything that I want to post on a website thru paperrater.com just in case, plus I can always use a second set of "eyes" to catch my grammar or spelling mistakes.

What are your thoughts? What do you do to try to avoid grammar and spelling mistakes? Do you review and revise? Do you have someone else do it for you?

You make some very valid points Solaric. There is a similar post to this within the forum, so at least some people are becoming aware of it. Best wishes to you with your WA work.

Thanks, this will be helpful.

Just as we're taught in college, we should be always be constantly reviewing and revising our work. I write initially in Word, which picks up many problems, before asking another to read it through to fine tune the blog/post.
As plagiarism is a criminal offence, it's very important to learn how to avoid it.
A good blog!
