Hi - you can remove specific pages from the index from here: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals
But as Rich says - old pages that return proper 404s, will fall out of the index next time the google bots crawl the links.

Okay thanks, I did see that, just did not feel like requesting to have 40+ urls removed. I think I will just let the pages fall out naturally.
They'll disappear over time, when your new site gets crawled with the old domain name and Google realises they don't exist any longer. :) Rich.
