I Don't Know Anything About Log Splitters, But I Sold One
It's true, I don't know anything about log splitters, but I just sold one. I am not in the "Log Splitting" niche, if that even exists. I am not a logger, and I don't live in the woods. I occassionally go camping, but that's the extent of my interaction with logs.
The Amazon affiliate program is amazing and frustrating all at the same time. Yes, they carry everything under the sun, but they pay very low commissions on a lot of items.
A lot of, maybe even most items sold on Amazon, have around a 4% commission. I belong to other affiliate programs which have a much higher commission rate.
BUT the great thing is that you can earn a commission for EVERY ITEM that someone buys once they click on your affiliate link.
The item I was promoting was a $30 seat cushion. The customer also bought a log splitter and other items, and I ended up with a $500 sale.
Bonus -- most of the items carried an 8% commission. Okay, that doesn't compute to a lot of money, but hey, I will take it.
Most of my sales from Amazon have been small, I am earning about $20/month right now from Amazon. I earn more from other programs like ShareASale. I guess the moral of the story is every penny, dime, dollar adds up.
Anybody else sell a log splitter lately?
Have a great day everyone.
Steve

I was looking at log splitters the other day online, that is too funny. I have sold some strange stuff over the years on Amazon. I remember someone bought a Vitamix blender once, with some underwear. lol
It's true... Amazon is excruciatingly frustrating. There are times they don't even credit me with a sale because the buyer might have be related, or a friend. Their rules are archaic. A sale is a sale. It shouldn't matter who buys something through your affiliate link!
I like Share-A-Sale is much better, too.
Yes, Amazon can be frustrating for sure. My neighbor order some stuff and I never got credit for it. I wonder how the algorithm works...okay, maybe I don't want to know LOL.
Simple...your address is similar to the neighbor's. So what. It's ridiculous. Yoy still made the sale
Sales are based on influence as well as trust and people who buy from you because they like you!
Living next door to someone doesn't guarantee a sale. And the end result? Amazon still makes money. They won't go out of business by doing right by their affiliates. It's infuriating.
Small commisions add up so everything is considered and appreciated.
Congratulations!
