Is it SPAM or opportunity
Is it impolite, rude or against online etiquette to research your niche online, find similar sites and opportunities as what you're doing; and then leave a comment on their site promoting your own? Perhaps it's a site that promotes similar opportunities that you are offering and you just want them to look at your site to see if it would be feasible for them to feature your website.

Hey Chris, for me that would be a definite no-no and completely against online etiquette.
I would be very surprised if any comment promoting a competing site would get published anyway!
