Affiliate marketing: Is it the end of an Era?
New at internet marketing and I think it is amazing, the number of changes there have been in the industry in that time. Is it the end of an Era, Maybe so? Search Engines are constantly improving the way they scan and rank websites. All in an effort to determine if the quality of your content and searches are deserving of page one material.
If you have a website, you are marketing from or are building a new one these changes may affect your websites activities. It might make it tougher to make a profit because the Search Engines keep changing the rules of the game and your strategies aren’t working.
I see and hear a lot of complaining and drama on this subject. The only input I really have on this is what I see and am learning as I did not live the old days. We really need to stop and think about it. These Search Engines are part of a business themselves. They are in it for profit. As such, they are going to maximize their strategies. I think I would do the same.
Change is constant there will always be change. That includes the way the industry treats our marketing strategies on the internet. We as affiliate marketers need to stay on top of it and maximize our marketing strategies. I believe that here at Wealthy Affiliate is the best place to help me accomplish this.
So is it the end of Affiliate Marketing? No, it is just the end of an era. The good news is I think it is the beginning of a new era in Affiliate Marketing. I know that is what I want to be a part of and I have committed to the long haul.
After all, businesses are always going to use some kind of marketing strategies to sell their products. I wish all the best to you.
I would like to know what everyone else thinks.

yup, it is the end of things getting ranked for laziness, part of me wishes i had started this two years ago, how easy it must have been, but then part of me is looking forward to dominating the marketers who still use old tired techniques and think spam is easier than writing real content, this is why it is SO important to choose a niche that you want to write about. Don't sit there promoting expensive items if you aren't going to write about them well.
Thanks for the comment, I always thought I could never make a good salesman, because I could never sell something I didn't care about to someone that didn't need it especially if you new the couldn't afford it. This way you choose something you can believe in. I don't know if I could have done the old days in with conscience.
Yes I agree with you Labman, I believe people want honesty!!! - I think there is a kind of rebirth of marketing and promoting and a completely positive one. It is not about how bright, shiny and flashy things are but rather about what things can truthfully do for you, what they have done for others, how do they stack up, why is one a little cheaper than another etc etc, we all want this - none of us want to waste our time.... OK enough steam blown off - an just my opinion - have a wonderful day everyone. Maybe too, it is about saving people time?? after all that is the one commodity people cannot buy.... my two pennies worth!!!...
Hey great comment, everyone seems so positive so far I am impressed. thank you and take care.
What it all breaks down to is that marketing is becoming less important, gaming the system is becoming more penalized. This may be the end of an era but the new one should be a great environment for people that are creating fantastic content. Lots and lots of content with good focus and real information. After all, people want to come to the internet for information so why should they not get what they are after.
When you give them what they want, the rankings should follow. If it doesn't then Google really is broken.
I think you are pretty much correct. Things are becoming very difficult to get noticed and effectively marketed. However, with change come challenges and with challenges come new strategies and new victories. Best of everything to you Sir William.
I think it could be the end for some marketers fooled by gurus or who just do not have the basic knowledge on how to do things properly on this field.
But the potential for our businesses grows jusk like the reach of internet and online shopping.
Good news is, here at WA we are constantly updated with all the news and current effective training, so afterall nothing to worry about.
I agree especially with everything going mobile. I was very lucky in the fact that I found WA before trying anything else. Thanks for the comment and take care
Sure, people tend to surf in the net more and more not only in their homes like a while ago but everywhere these days, which I really think is a problem, but for us internet marketers is a good thing, the more they google the more they buy our promoted products.
The thing, Sir William is, yes we know the search engines are always changing their algorithms to prevent scammers from taking advantage of the system. What we as eMarketers should learn is how to master the way the search engines make these changes to the algorithms.
