Losing Focus? - This could help you too

One of my old drillmasters used to scold me every time he notices me lazying around;

"Stop hanging around like a bad smell and do something."

Even to date, his voice still echoes in my ears. But for some reasons, today I remembered this specific statement.

Does this have anything to do with Wealthy Affiliate?

Well, it made me zoom into WA, and I noticed some areas within this platform that could result in the undisciplined becoming unproductive. And believe it or not, I came up with a list;

1. Our Wealthy affiliate blogs

2. The live chat area

3. The comments section

4. Other members' profiles

5. Our PM section

Now,

One may think, how is this even possible? These areas are to help us!

Of course, they help us.

But here is what I think, and this may not apply to everyone who is not self-disciplined.

1. How our WA blogs section; can become a perfect spot for wasting time.

You may find yourself wavering around this area looking for new exciting blog posts, commenting, socializing, reading other people's comments and waiting for the author to say to their feedback and so on.

I know this may make one feel like they're adding value to the community. And yes, you could be, but are you productive on your site?

PRO TIP---Should you find yourself spending more time than you should in that section; rethink your purpose of going there in the first place.

2. The live chat area

Again, I hardly use this section, but it has similar attributes to the above.

3. The comments section

Do you sometimes find yourself continually checking the comments you offered--- if the site owner has approved your comment? Or revisiting the sites you have submitted your comments to check the responses? If so, what value will you add to your website by checking this section a hundred times a day?

4. Other members' profiles

It's ok to spot someone you want to be on their network and want to dig their profiles. But the minute this becomes a hobby that is not a niche you are currently working on; you’re probably not adding value to your business.

5. Our PM section

This is another corner that has the potential of having someone hanging around like a bad smell if not used appropriately.

Conclusion

Do you sometimes find yourself hovering around any of these corners?

What do you do when you realize that's what you do and you shouldn't be addicted to it?
