Be The Expert For 1 Thing

There's one primary concern, or challenge that I come across a lot of times when I am working with entrepreneurs and people who are looking to build their businesses online, and that one thing is niching down, meaning deciding what is the one main thing that you help people with.

I asked someone a question yesterday, and here was the question I asked. What is the number one thing that you are known for helping or supporting people with? The person gave me 3 things.

That is not as common as you may think. Let's do this exercise real quick. What is the number one thing that you help/supoort people with?

As entrepreneurs we are naturally creative, and as creatives we have a lot of ideas we come up with throughout the day, week, months and years, and the thing is, we can make money with all of them, and that is the problem.

We may be able to make money with all of them, but are we fully maximing our potential. Believe I know, when you are talented at a lot of things, and you are making a few dollars from each one, it's hard to give it up, because we feel that we may be leaving money on the table.

Let's look at this example. When you don't feel well, let's say that your back hurts, you go to the Doctor, yes? You go to see a general practioner, the general practioner runs a few test, and when you get the result he/she says that you have a problem in your ankle, that is affecting your posture, which is causing your back pain.

The General practioner says you need to go to a specialist because they are not an expert in that area. You go to the front desk and pay the general practioner receptionist $65 for your visit. He/she gives you a referral to a ankle specialist.

You make an appointment with the ankle specialist, do you think the fee will be $65 or more like $650? This is the difference when you are an expert in your arena. People will come to you because they see you as the only person who can fix their problem.

When you narrow down and you are seen as the expert in your arena, you will eventually make more money and make more of an impact.
