Seeking Serenity
I am new here. That means I have a lot to learn. That said, I have an open mind and eager spirit. This message is for all those kind souls who have offered their help to me. It is so very appreciated. Thank you - from the bottom of my heart.
We are all seeking serenity - sometimes in the oddest of places. We all want peace and tranquility. Does money bring peace and tranquility? Ask Anthony Bourdain. He was a very rich man... who ultimately committed suicide. Money does not bring tranquility. We have to feel that way on the "inside" and money helps cover our expenses - and helps us help others. Which is what the world should be about.
We all belong to the human race - black, white, tan, we are all family. And family comes first. When you find peace in your heart and your soul, you will have found the Key to Happiness. Always fill your own cup first, for if you try to fill others' cups from an empty cup, it doesn't work out... so be kind to yourself. And forgive yourself. Stop telling yourself that you are a crap person, or that you don't do anything right. I did that for years (I was abused as a child and as an adult) and I've learnt that I hold the key to my own happiness.
If you feel bad about choices you have made, forgive yourself. That is really important. Make peace with your past and start a new chapter in your "book" (your life). When we get hurt in life, sometimes we react accordingly, and that is only natural. But you want the key to happiness, right? Learn to love yourself, and be kind to yourself; it can only follow, then, that you will love others and be kind to others accordingly.
I wish everyone here the most beautiful day. I hope you all find the serenity you are looking for. I am proud to be part of this group and although I am still learning the ropes, I know that I will "get it" eventually. Thank you again, to all the kind souls who are helping me on this journey :) I wish you all the best, and I hope you find your "peace of mind."
