Warning for Amazon affiliates

Last year I joined the Amazon affiliate program with no issues at all. Through my website chardonnayfans.com I was promoting their wines. Four months into it, when communicating with them directly about some business problem, they informed me that although I can advertise their wines, I would not be eligible for referral fees.

Quoting Amazon: "We have contractual agreements with some merchants and manufacturers that prohibit us from providing our Associates with advertising fees on certain products on Amazon.com".

So be aware of this, avoid a nasty surprise and just check your products/services against their listed exceptions.

Yes it was. Google Adsense did not accept my site for the same reason.

Jeez, sorry to hear Georg! Maybe it can work out better. If you make your own wine, perhaps you can sell it directly on the site??

What a disappointment for you. I just want to mention that I live south of Adelaide, very close to McLaren Vale and not too far from Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley - all great wine regions. I was enjoying a Sauvignon Blanc with dinner last night.

I envy you for living near such a great wine area. I have reviewed a lot of Chardonnays from these regions and they are all quality wines. Next week we will have some friends coming over from Adelaide and they will always bring some excellent wines with them. Cheers, Jerry
