How To Build Trust With Your Readers By Using Your Personality!

So how do you build trust with your readers?

It is both simple and hard. The simple part is being yourself and the hard part is delivering yourself to the reader. That is why blogging in general takes so much time. Aside from the planning, the funneling, and trying to make sales you are trying to build a sustainable relationship.

A true following...a fellowship even! Yes, exactly like The Lord of the Rings kind minus the orcs and battles and stuff. Triple points if you even know what I'm talking about.

Have you ever built a real relationship over night?

Probably not I would suspect. Maybe you are the one in a million love at first sight lucky type. I think of those people as the ones who make a website and become a sensation immediately.

It is so very rare, but it happens. The rest of us are left to build a relationship from the ground up which can take weeks, months, and in many cases years!

How can I use my personality to build trust?

Think about how you build the relationships around you. Even with your family. Just be yourself! Are you struggling to make content or write because you have developed this online version of yourself that doesn't feel like you? Are you just going through the motions?

The moment you stop doing that and throw your real personality out there, the better off you will be. When people are reading, they don't want to feel like it's a textbook or a set of frustrating IKEA furniture directions. They want real, raw, unfiltered truth. Honesty! Don't you like when someone shows you their true colors? Your readers will too and will reward you for it with subscribes and purchases!

It took me way too long to figure this out...

Seriously, 3 years later and I realize to just be myself. Don't fall victim to trying to be someone you aren't. I mean playing the part online doesn't mean you have to sacrifice who you really are.

Due to the technical aspects of blogging it is easy to get caught up in...well...just being technical about everything! Even the language we use when we write.

My final advice.

Be yourself and start writing with feeling and emotion. Forget being a robot and let your inner personality shine through your work. THIS is what will set you apart from the rest. Anyone can write a research report, but only you can put your voice and spirit into words.

Today, I challenge you to create a blog post that shines true to you and you alone yet still contains SEO, keywords and the important aspects that rank.

Feel free to comment!

Let me know how it feels to write freely in your own voice. Notice the difference in the flow and readability. It is a known fact that blog readers enjoy short concise thoughts, sentences, and paragraphs. This is much how we speak in general!

Did you ever have a teacher in school who droned on forever about the same thing with a boring voice? I do..and not fondly. Don't be that teacher. Be the fun spontaneous one!

All the best!
