Schedule a study plan and follow it is very important
I've been information overload for the beginning after join WA, even I knew some basic to set up my website before. I listed up some mistakes I made, it might help someone.
I watched training video as much as I could a day to find out what's the key information I did not know from the previous learning. It made me completely information overload in my brain. Then I knew it's not a right way.
I listed up all my problem in all my websites, and what was I did not know. I searched answered from the questions area and some training videos by titles. That way make me much more easier.
I have been fixed up all my websites and now I began my new niche blog.
My suggestion for newbies:
If you are completely new in this industry, the better way is immediate implement after the training video, then write down what did you do for your first website. After you finish the step then go to the next video.
For people who are already experienced in this industry for a while:
List up what you did not know, and you have to fix them immediately, get to the training video directly.Some basic training videos you can skip if you're not a beginner.

Hi Shirley, I know all too well about information overload ! I'm trying to build my "bricks and mortar" and niche websites at the same time.Mix in lots of video training, personal development books and podcasts, entrepreneurial podcasts by guys like Chris Ducker,Pat Flynn etc,and a 70 hour work week !
Needless to say I feel overwhelmed at times. I believe your suggestion of taking it one step at a time makes a lot of sense :)
Yes, take it easy, even you just finish one step at a time, you are still speed up much than put too much info. into your brain in one time. :)
