As part of my commitment to be a part of the WA community, I have decided to create and share my weekly Earnings & Accountability reports. In this weekly report, I will account for my previous week's productivity, new site launches, content creation and earnings since joining the WA community. Why would I do this? For a few reasons:

1. Inspiration - My hope is that by allowing other people to see how things happen inside someone else's business, they will gain a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in their own business.

2. Social Feedback - I don't claim to be a guru or to know everything. I have learned that some of the best ideas and solutions come directly from the sharing of this type of information.

3. Transparency - I used to believe that "ideas" were valuable. That belief caused me to waste countless amounts of time, energy and money "thinking" about things. Then I found out that it is the IMPLEMENTATION of ideas that is truly valuable. This means that I now focus less on "trade secrets" and much more on ACTION. This has worked like gangbusters for me. So I stick to my guns and share what I do, how I do it and much more because I know that my key to success is "that I do it".

Productivity

Big changes came about for me last week. I have decided to make the switch from smaller more niche sites to larger authority sites. I have committed to this methodology for 180 days. This means that for 180 days, I will not build out any new domains. I will continue to build out the existing domains that I have in my portfolio, but I will give those projects a much lower priority. The thing that excites me about the authority sites is that most of the work is in producing the content. That is something that I feel that I am already good at, and also something that my team can do without my direct involvement. This should give me a good amount of free time that I can redirect into reviewing analytics.

Site Launches

No site launches for me last week. Instead, I have started the initial planning for one larger authority site that I will focus on building out over the next 6 months.

Previous Weeks Sites

Niche - home loan modification
Traffic - 1,327 unique visitors
Monetization type - Adsense (for now)
Revenue from 10/7 to 10/13 - $35.13

Traffic Source(s) - No changes here. To get traffic to this site, I am still using direct response banners, networked blogs (via an existing Facebook account) and Twitter.

List building - n/a

My thoughts - Huge winner here. This site has a cpm of over $26! Going forwards, the focus for this site will be driving as much targeted traffic to it as possible. Due to how I am driving the traffic (banner ads on my other sites) I guess that means driving more traffic to the sites that are running the banner ads. Real estate related markets are definitely something that I will focus more on as I start creating content for my authority site.

Niche - mutual funds
Traffic - 6,856 unique visitors
Monetization type - Adsense (for now)
Revenue from 10/7 to 10/13 - $101.88

Traffic Source(s) - No changes here. To get traffic to this site, I am still using direct response banners, networked blogs (via an existing Facebook account) and Twitter.

List building - free report setup, 389 optins so far

My thoughts - In a word, WOW! Earnings shot up to $100+ for this site and I think that is only further proof that building authority sites is going to be a better usage of my time going forwards. I will continue to add content to this site and also start to syndicate content for it on a regular basis. With the help of free search engine traffic, this site could easily be a $100 per day site.

Niche - digital photography
Traffic - 6,463 unique visitors
Monetization type - Adsense (for now)
Revenue from 10/7 to 10/13 - $43.63

Traffic Source(s) - No changes here. To get traffic to this site, I am still using direct response banners, networked blogs (via an existing Facebook account) and Twitter. 90% of the visitors from this site come from banner ads on my other sites.

My thoughts - Different week, same results. Even though this site managed to get over $40, the CPM is still easily the lowest of the bunch. But all is not lost, I am usually able to quickly sell sites like this for 10x monthly earnings, so at the current rate of $40 per week, this site has a value of $1,600, which I would definitely consider to be a nice profit.

Niche - frugal living
Traffic - 861 unique visitors
Monetization type - Adsense (for now)
Revenue from 10/7 to 10/13 - $16.29

Traffic Source(s) - No changes here. To get traffic to this site, I am still using direct response banners, networked blogs (via an existing Facebook account) and Twitter.

My thoughts - I need to step up the traffic and promotional efforts on this site. All of the signs are there to show that it can be a high earner, but I have been unable to get a decent amount of traffic to it for several weeks now. I will spend the remainder of the month promoting this site and if the results are positive, I will keep it and continue to nurture it with fresh content and syndicated content for backlinks.

Content Created

Sunday - 10x1
Monday - 10x1
Tuesday - 10x1
Wednesday - 10x1
Thursday - 10x1
Friday - 10x1
Saturday - 10x1

Total - 70 articles created in 10 markets

10/7 to 10/13 Revenue Total - $196.93

Ok, so that concludes the report for last week. If you have any questions about this report (or anything else) please feel free to leave a comment or send me a private message.
