June Progress update! What I've achieved
A long overdue progress report. I'm most proud of my commitment to ACTION & EXECUTION for this past month! I cleared out my schedule to commit to my blog, and created a schedule for my posting. Although I had already started my blog months prior, this felt like the 1st time I actually took the time to really look at it as a business.
Here's what I did:
1) I applied and got approved to 8 affiliate programmes through Amazon, Linkshare & Shareasale. It wasn't completely easy, I must say. In the future, I'd would have written 10-20 posts & at least some decent traffic first before applying, as some other brands rejected me because I don't have high traffic yet.
2) I tried to stick to my schedule of posting 3x a week, but for the most part, I only managed to do 2x a week. I realised that it takes much longer for me to write a post sometimes, as I have to add lots of images and coordinate the links, so it does take quite a while. I tried to spend the rest of the time promoting my posts through social media and engagement on FB groups and through WA. I've had a lot of fun hanging out in certain FB groups for bloggers, and will probably continue to use that platform to make more connections.
3) I actually went & bought a few more online courses on Affiliate marketing & Pinterest marketing, which I'm still going through right now. I felt that I needed a stronger foundation about affiliate marketing, which the course has helped me with, and I feel like I have a better grasp on how to format my website for better conversions. I've formatted the links properly with Pretty Links, made sure to make the link open in a new tab, and used deep linking in the affiliate network sites to link to the actual products. Although it doesn't seem like much has changed from the outside appearance, I would say I now understand what is important in terms of website layout, posts & linking for affiliate marketing.
4) I added a webstore to my site using a WooCommerce platform. This was really easy, as there's an option for "external link/affiliate products" on the site. I thought this would give my readers a localized page for some of the products I feature on my blog, and makes so much sense to tie the site together.
5) I added a mailing list signup for my website. I can use this to update readers on my weekly blog posts, any sales from affiliate brands and about my webstore updates.
6) I'm interested in writing e-books related to fashion & blogging, that I would like to sell later on on my site as well. This would provide me with more revenue streams besides affiliate links.
So yes, in the future, I'm planning to set up my blog so that I can derive revenue from these areas:
affiliate links in blog posts
ecommerce store - link to external/affiliate products
e-books
Next up is to master the ways in which to drive traffic. I do believe that I have good content on my site, so I just need to be consistent in posting, and then making sure to have continued engagement through socials & other platforms. Looking to get my traffic to go up & earn my first sale, will update again soon!

Congrats on your achievements Sherise, and thanks for sharing your progress. I think it will help others better understand what planning and actions are necessary to move towards success. You are on your way! Well done. ~Jude
Thank you Jude, I'm just starting, but it's exciting to see what could be out there! Self discipline has been my challenge, but i'm using my WHY of my goals to motivate me!
I agree that self-discipline is the fundamental key to getting things done. Your Why inspiration will make it easier to be self-disciplined. You're on the right track.! ~Jude
I can see that you are quite ambitious and that's great! I have also been averaging between 2 - 3 posts a week and I would love to be able to write everyday but life happens, as you know. The important thing is to try and write as much as we can, when we can because it still adds up at the end of the day.
yup, totally agree about the little actions that we take everyday add up. I'm also trying to enjoy the process (the writing), without putting too much pressure on the outcome (sales), and beginning to find it very fulfilling too! Trust the process and keep at it! x
Wow Sherises,

Glad to be part of your network. Thanks so much.
Thanks, glad you found it helpful!... To be honest, I decided to get on more training because I wanted to get my first sale faster, but I'm now trying to also enjoy the process of developing my site, which I find so fulfilling. All the best on your journey too!
