I don't see any problem with this. Make sure links to other websites open in a different window or tab so users stay on your site.
I think it's a great idea, as long as you create the links as a 'nofollow' link since it is outbound. That way you're not giving up any 'linkjuice' by the reference. I wrote a blog on Follow and No Follow links if you want to learn more.
I realised that when I put in the no follow link, the third party website opens within the same tab instead of a new one. Is that how its supposed be?
