Six weeks in and I went annual

Cannot believe six weeks has already went by. I've been so busy creating content and going through the training I hardly noticed. But I decided that this was going to take some time so I invested in my future by going yearly. I am a sucker for a discount and this is the best deal for learning. It would cost me twice as much to take this at my local community collage and those classes probably wouldn't cover the marketing side of it like keywords, seo settings ect.... So I am with you all for the long haul.

Wanted to share a few tips I have learned so far with some of my fellow newbies. You will come across great information here within the community just through others blogs. If its something you want to come back to for reference later, there is a star at the top left corner of training or blog or tutorial title. Click on that star to bookmark the content and then you won't have to spend so much time looking for it when you need it most.

Was working on some content within word press last week at my local library and the computer just logged off without warning me and I lost my whole page that I was writing without an outline or script. So next day tried to recreate content from what I could remember and this time the computer froze and I lost it again. Well, I just wanted to cry at this point and through the PC on the floor, I was so frustrated. As I sat there staring at my lost/blank page, I noticed a small box on the right side of my theme that said "2" Revisions. I clicked on the number and it brought back my page I had just lost and I was able to restore it.

Went looking for clip art I was goggling the name of an image then coping and pasting it to my desktop to upload into my websites. Then I remembered a blog I had read about how to get free clip art. Unfortuatly, this was before I learned about the bookmark feature and couldn't find it again. But I went to ask the question at top of WA page and all sorts of tutorials and trainings came up on this. Like this one https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-find-free-images-to-use-on-your-website

I didn't even realize the whole copy right thing and how to look for it, so this is important stuff, none of us wanted to get sued for using someone else's property.

Another thing I figured out (through a WA member) when posting a WA banner on your site, copy the HTML URL instead of downloading the image. Then open the site page and go to visual mode (top right corner) then put your cursor where you want image and paste the HTML URL. The image will come out much clearer and crisper.

Ok last tip and I know we can all use this one because I have read and posted feedback from a lot of WA members sites. Punctuation and grammar within our sites is badly needed. (My own included) I found a great little punctuation tool just by goggling the term and found several free programs/apps that are downloadable write to your browser and catch every error while you are writing content within word press.

I hope this is helpful to others out there struggling with some of the same issues.

I will say good bye on that note a wish everyone a productive and happy day!

Hi Shelia, I appreciate the post. I have been trying to bookmark everything inside Chrome but my Bookmarks Bar is getting overcrowded. Now I will just use the WA star,

Hi Sheila, thanks for the great info. Congrats and best of luck, although i don't think luck has anything to do with success here. Only dedication and good work ethics ;-)

Hi Silk,
Thanks for the feedback and yes I totally agree that dedication and work are the key to succuss in this buisness.

That's some great advice Sheila and congrats on going yearly!

Thanks RJ, I appreciate your time for reading it and giving me feedback!

Congratulations on going Yearly so soon! These are great tips. It proves that WA is a learning process, and everyone can learn something here.

For grammar, and punctuation, I've recently installed Grammarly.com. I find myself disagreeing with it sometimes, depending on what I'm writing.

Good luck!

Gary

Thanks Gary! Yep that's the one I've been using too and though it's not 100% accurate it's better than my own skills.
