I want a Home Business but where do I start?

People talk alot about not getting started with Network Marketing, MLM, Direct Sales etc because they say —it could be a scam. How do I know? Well first of all to be a scam there would have to be an exchange of money without no product or service. There should be something of value exchanged for the money going in. If that is there you can check that box off. Another thing to check is with the DSA or Direct Sales Association. This site has listed out many good companies and some of the top ones far as selling something. Now don’t automatically discredit other companies that didn’t make the list cause they could be good just not hitting enough in sales to make the list. Now once you narrow down what your interested in such as will it be a product or a service? If its a service you may want to offer electricity at a discount such as Stream Energy or maybe a cell service you like or Legal Protection such as Legal Shield. Perhaps its a product you want to offer —–Health and Wellness is a Billion dollar industry……someone is making money off it and it might as well be you. There are vitamins, shakes, oils, patches, health coffees, teas, organic and better made home cleaners etc. Once you have made a list of the ones you like alot and would want to promote, for example candles, you can then research Direct sales companies that are geared toward candles. Compare them across the board, if your only in it to make a few bucks for a vacation this year you probably don’t need to worry how long they have been around but if you plan to make a solid living from it and have residual income for years to come than you will want to look at companies that are at least 5 years old. This shows stability financially and they have had time to improve some of the weaker areas in the company starting out fresh.

We are moving right along and you might be thinking, yeah I have known people in my life or heard of people that have made alot of money in Network Marketing or Direct Sales but they also took alot of classes and seminars and bought tons of books to learn all they needed to know not to mention all the pep rallies to keep them up and encouraged—-we are talking thousands of dollars. Well first of all many of us spend thousands getting educated at college and carry thousands of dollars in debt. The average debt being $25,000 and many people I know carry 60k and more, why would we not want to invest in something that we are building for a secure future and something that can be inherited by our families. Now we all know that an average semester of classes can range from $1000 and up, most of the time not including books so in comparison many people building a side business will take a class here, buy a book there, go to a seminar here and there and do it all in pieces. Problem with that is you don’t retain it when it is all spread out. Also if your not applying it and using everything they are teaching at the time you lose it —-remember learning Spanish? It was all good if you were using it and immersing yourself in it but what happens when you don’t use it for 4 years—you lose it……..why? Its a fact the brain is a computer and dumps what you have no need for and if your not using it —it dumps it .
