I have read how to change other sites to our WA website DNS but how do I change my WA website DNS to another website? I have a turn-key hosted website for my travel agency but

How do I contact site support to change the DNS to another web host?

Go to the help centre on your left and in there is site support :)

Weebly and some others are a little different. Marion's way should work. Or ask Site Support to physically move the site here.

I found out we do not have access to change it. I had to submit a request. Thanks

Go to Site Rubix > Site Domains and click on Settings next to your domain name. You can set the Nameservers from the drop down list. If that doesn't work then contact Site Support.

Ok, I will try. Thanks The instructions said to create a new CNAME which is what is throwing me off.

I don't think we can access that here, so check with Site Support.

I am not sure.

Does anyone have access to the terms and conditions of the premium membership here at WA? I cannot find them anywhere. We have information as to why we should have a terms an

Item 4.3 of WA's Terms & Conditions:

....."You may elect to cancel your Wealthy Affiliate Premium account at any time by following the steps outlined within your Account Settings. If you subscribed to a yearly plan, any cancellation will only be effective at the end of the then-current annual billing period and no credits or refunds will be issued to you for prepaid fees."

"4.4 Late Payment. If any amounts due here under are not received by Wealthy Affiliate by the due date, then at Wealthy Affiliate’s discretion, they may provide a grace period of an undetermined time to allow you to make payment before terminating your membership."

You left out the part about not being able to continue or come back on the free membership. Thanks though.

Good question...thanks. Debbie

Here you go.
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/tos

It has all the TOS for WA.

Carl

Thanks....where did you find it....Debbie

I just took a guess actually on the address name, lol. Their contact address is wealthyaffiliate.com/contact, so I figured that it would be the same except "tos" instead of "contact". Just got lucky. :)
I have not tried it yet but I am sure that if u Googled "Wealthy Affiliate Terms of Service", it would come up.

I think it is a little ironic that we are taught to have a terms and conditions page but they do not provide us with one. It is really kind of a turn off at this point. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, these should really be available on the sidebar tbh!

Hey Shari,

Excellent question!
Maybe ... not sure ... but maybe membership sites don't need terms and conditions ... though ... hmmmm ... you'd think it would be to their advantage to have one for a membership site. I dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It would be good to see something of that kind. There are some rules, but it appears nobody is following them, just look around.

I found some but I had to go search on an incognito browser or the site automatically knows its me. It's a shame they aren't straight up about the fact that if you start on the free membership and upgrade that you cannot go back to the free membership. I feel pretty let down right now by WA. Yeah, I know, I should have read the contract. I would have expected some kind of warning when I upgraded that it was like Hotel California. I guess I will just have to start all over. Luckily I've already started migrating. I really don't like wordpress and found something easier for me. I was going to stay on here and just forward my domains but I guess that is not an option.

That is an option (forwarding your domains). Go to Site Rubix > Site Domains and click on Settings. You can change the DNS there.

You'll need to back up your website and save the files on your computer if you want to keep the work you've done.

PM me if you need help

When they stop hosting them they will not forward anymore, at least I'm pretty sure. Anyway, its better that way.

You don't forward your domains you change the DNS to point to wherever your websites are hosted the same as you would at any other domain name registrar. You don't have to have your websites hosted at the same place as you buy your domain names.

Straight from the top Shari!

Those are hardly terms and conditions, it is more promotion stuff.

I see a lot of that promotion stuff...

Is this what you are looking for?
https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/terms

Yes, I got them. I had to browse incognito.

I am well past the training of having established my own domain name, but now the thought has occurred to me about trademarks. I have not seen anything about it thus far in tr

You do need to be careful, for example one member had a legal notice from Amazon demanding they relinquish their domain because it ended in —zon !! Amazon also has a huge list of trademarks, many of which aren't obvious, see http://d.pr/ebkMjs You need to avoid using any of these in domain names, especially if you wish to be affiliated with Amazon.

I strongly recommend you avoid any brand or product name in a domain name, as it might cause you a lot of hassle at some point further down the road.

Well I'm just going to have to talk about the Amazon River and the Amazon Rain Forrest an awful lot. LOL Shame on them, especially for the use of zon, that is taking it to the extremes. Its a shame that when you google amazon you do not even come up with the above mentioned places unless you actually type out the entire search phrase. I think I would definitely have to fight them on the zon part. Now I have my work cut out for me coming up with a name ending in zon darn it. :)

Every domain name is unique. So as long as you keep renewing it every year no one else can use it.

I do realize that Marion. I'm saying if there is a business out there somewhere with the same name that I do not know about, I would be in violation of their trademark, even if they do not register it. I did some research on it. There is also what is know as "common law" regarding trademarks but I wont get into all that. Anyway, I'm good now, I know what I need to do and luckily mine wasn't already registered, hopefully there are no common laws out there either.

You should find out in the initial search if it is already taken or parked somewhere for sale. Think of every wording combination possible to get a .com the most valued of domain names!

Thanks but .com does not rank any better, it is all about the content. Yes, they jack up the prices on them. They buy them all up and then just sit on them and put them up for sale for thousands of dollars. I tried for one and they wanted over 3K for it. On the bright side, they did offer installment payments. I've done my research there too. They say .org isn't any good either but depending on your niche it does give quite a bit of credibility as people consider you as a non-profit "go to" resource.

Interesting data here Shari. Thank you!

I went with .co for one of mine. I figure if anything a few people will accidentally land there leaving off the "m" in a hurry! :)

Go on, I just take it' , it is added to your mark, what ever it is I ask Kyle or under questionable;

huh? I'm not sure what you are saying. it is added to my mark? what mark? I do not think I can take it if it is trademarked. I just do not understand why that would not have been covered in training prior to telling us to go get our own domain.
