5 Ways To Make Virtual Learning More Likable
Virginia has implemented an unprecedented historical event: Hybrid Learning. Some school districts have already started their school year. There are a lot of counties that are waiting until after Labor Day to start.
Children are being split into two groups; one group going to school on Monday and Tuesday or Monday and Wednesday, dependent on the district's school board decision, and the other group going to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Thursdays and Fridays.
The other days are spent at home, ideally with a guardian guiding them in their virtual, already-scheduled classwork.
It's A New Normal, But We Will Adapt
If you are lucky (and brave) enough to be able and willing to stay with your child during these virtual school days, March had given you a taste of what it will take to get your child on a workable schedule and mindset to be a successful student in this new academic year.
There are a few things I have learned to make Hybrid Learning a bit easier to deal with. Here are five:
- Help your kids set up a space for having virtual school-time in their home. Get a table or desk they can personalize with cool desk accessories.
- Make sure your kids have comfortable seating when they're at their desk.
- Their learning space needs to be away from the TV or any other potential distractions.
- Set yourself up a desk space right along with your kids so you can keep an eye on them and be easily accessible by them if, per chance, you are needed for help.
- ALWAYS be ready and aware with each of your children and their teachers by knowing passwords to your kids' devices and to the software they are using so you can access their schedules and syllabuses for each class.
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to get through this unusual beginning of a school year.

Very helpful post Shannon albeit slightly draconian on the regimen...lols they are young and need close supervision!!
Really empathise with all of you with young ones as you know the exam results in the UK have had to be retracted and caused further stress to both the young and their parents.
Adaptability is certainly the watchword for all this!
Nevertheless try and have a great day!! ;

Yes, I'm backing down to part-time at my job so I can be there to make sure the kids are doing what they're supposed to and that they actually understand it. It's all about the routine. Thank you for reading, Rami!

Thank you, Jeff! Thought it would be selfish of me not to share my experience with the current schooling situation. Take care!

These are the best ideas I've heard yet. Going to school part-time which I think in this new world should be this way, and the other time exploring the online version of school. Parents will be forced to pay more attention to their children's education. What they learn and what they need help with.
Bravo for t his post, Shannon. We can also spread this news around. Thank you.
Thank you! It's definitely a new time. All we can ever do is try our best. Until next time!
