How I create an article
Hi Guys,
I though to share with you the logic behind the posts I create for my blog, hoping it may be useful to some.
My blog deals with food and objects from Asia, so potentially I have thousands of things I can write about. The first thing I have done then was to write down an initial list of about 40 items, and since the blog is still at an early stage, I used Jaaxy to identify those that can give me more chances to get a good ranking on Google. That means I write about those items first, and once I get some following through google and social engagement, I can move to the others.
Once I picked the subject for a post, this is what I do:
- I start from what I already know about it, and I write down a list of keywords ... by keywords I mean words around which I can build a 'concept', i.e. at least one or two sentences.
- Then I go to wikipedia, or another site where I know I can get some good information, and I write down other keywords based on the new info I collected. Writing keywords instead of entire phrases will make sure that no sentence in my article will look like a 'copy and paste' from somewhere else.
- Finally I think of the structure of the article, i.e. the sequence of information that it will contain, and I order all the keywords I collected earlier in accordance with this sequence I have in mind. Once I have all the keywords in order, the article almost writes by itself :)
I'd love to hear if you do something similar, or what your method is.
Cheers
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
Very good info. I have a similar structure myself. I always spend about 15 minutes putting my post plan together. Once I have the plan then my post just flows and only takes about 30/40 minutes to actually write.
I then read back through it and make sure it flows the way i want it to.
It's all about the plan for me. Thanks for sharing.
