A Little Light is Begining to Shine Brighter

The Turtle May Not be fast but He's Got Endurance

So, I don't usually blog too much due to my lack of time to really spend on "extra things." This past July I took a deep look at myself, inspired by one of our WA folks blog. It inspired me to take a look at the 24 hours we are all given and how exactly I utilize them. After factoring out work and travel time back and forth I found that I don't need to sit in an office to research, write, think, etc. I just needed to do it.

Then the "Big" dedision. I asked myself a difficult question. Mind you, I am very proud of my work ethic but I asked myself, If I evaluated my business and employed myself to build and run it, would I be proud or would I fire myself? Looking at this objectively--I had to honestly say that I would no longer need my services. And admittedly, I am in kindergarten when it comes to SEO and CSS/JS script and all.

I live by the fact that if you want something done and done right, find a busy person. They'll get it done because they know how to priorize their time. So I made some changes.

Transition, 4 Months Later (July-November)

I started thinking about ideas at night before bed, thinking my brain could marinate on them while I sleep. Then I research matierials, keywords, ideas and content on the hour and a half bus ride to and from work--all using my smart phone.

While at work on my down time and breaks I organized my thoughts and ideas, using the note pad on my phone. And, when I got home I wrote articles. Now, I know I could probably fine tune a few things but I think I've been pretty diligent over the last 4 months.

- July I had nothing: Nothing---yes, that's write No Visitors

- Aug: 102 visitors 102

- Sept: 208 visitors

- Oct: 568 visitors

and now in November (23rd to be exact) I have 818 from 9 different countries with 7 days left. I have only made one Amazon sale and a couple of dollars with Adsense. I am told with my traffic so low that I am as expected.

Here's the kicker. Even though I have revamped my work habits I only have 14 blog posts. But they seem to be good. Google indexes them right away. My niche Black Friday Sale post does rank #1 when using the domain name and post name. But without the domain name it ranks #8 organically on google and in between the "Big Boys." ie: the big company websites. And, when looking before and after my ranking, there websites "Ain't all That."

Coming to the end of this month I now want to give my employee (me) a pat on the back. Even though writing at turtle speed big things are being accomplished. I am so inspired at this point I don't even need sleep. Hopefully, my site will continue to double with traffic and then sales will get better. I have 7 years before I retire at 65 and my goal is to have an extremely lucrative passive income from my site--hopefully sites by then.

A Heartfelt Thank You to ALL of You at WA

Even though you don't hear much from me, I thank you all for being there. I do read most everything. That is what has kept me going and hearing success stories along the way. I know I'm not breaking any records but who cares. This started out as a hobby to retire with. If it speeds up retirement for me? Wow--how great!

If it wasn't for this platform and the wonderful relationships I have built so far, there's no telling if I would still even be here. I am very proud to be a WA Member and will be taking advantage of the Black Friday $299 offer.
