Heyla, WA!

This post is going to be quick today as I'm so freaking tired that I just don't have the energy to write a long one right now. So list post coming up!

The Good

September was a pretty boring month and exhausting, but I did have some achievements. Which is cool because my site is only coming up on 4 months old!

  • Posted Every Friday like Clockwork
  • Had a post of 4900 words! (ouch!)
  • Created my first list post (with affiliate links).
  • All of my stats have increased well, from visitors to followers and even a subscriber!
  • Connected with another feral cat blogger on IG.
  • Made a random sale from my first 'practice' website ($3 bounty awarded to me)
  • Got a small income from Amazon and WA this month (used for my membership of course)
  • I got accepted by a few affiliate programs
  • I got accepted by Alley Cat Allies for their Feral Friends Network (not necessarily a website thing, more of help people with TNR problems locally)
  • Ran an ad for likes on FB successfully, with a SUPER small budget ($1 a day for 5 days). 6% conversion rate. 30 new likes from that campaign alone, and my FB page was very new.
  • I get massive engagement on IG and FB is close second. Twitter.... I don't often post enough I don't think. You really need to be active there. Pinterest, I'm working on it. It's the lagging one. Linkedin... not great for my niche, but I post there too.

The Bad

Not everything was sunshine and rainbows though!

  • Still battling energy levels/motivation/pain
  • Still battling kitty problems
  • I need to figure out how to resize my featured images because one turned out HUGE.
  • My laptop charger cord got ate by a kitten, so I replaced it. The replacement is causing my computer to slow down. Crazy, right?
  • There's a new horse in the barn keeping me awake ALL night. I'm so freaking tired.

Personal

It's still hot as crap down here in Louisiana and I cannot wait for winter right now. Apparently, autumn is not a thing here because it's just not cooling down!

I also received an Advanced Readers Copy of a book by one of my favorite authors EVER, who is mainstreamed published, so I am going to work a little on my book blog as well this coming week.

How was YOUR September? Anything significant happen?

Sounds like it was a productive September!

Yup, thank you! It was!

What a busy month. You did get a lot done.

Time to cool off and rest a little.
Crazy horses. Know all about that.

Lily 😊

Yup! And when they're young, colts, and away from their first 'home' and new to the barn, they are loud, obnoxious and a pain in the patootie! ^_^

Hi Rochelle,

I am sorry to hear you are tired and hurting and hot! That sucks.

It sounds like you are doing well with your sites however!! Congratulations.

A 4900 word post is amazing. I don't have any quite that long and only one close to that long and I have been at this for years. Good job.

My September has been a whirlwind. I finally decided on a domain name and bought a new .com for a work from home site! I have been mulling this over for a year. I am very excited and hope to have some content on there in time for Black Friday in hope WA does it's sale again.

There are finally some good things happening personally. My husband got a new job here!!! FINNNNALY. He has been applying for lots of jobs for several years now. He has a decent job already but it is underpaid and very, very stressful being responsible for daily planning and execution of prisoner transport and directing 23 officers, tracking all this in state and federal systems, monitoring security for the courthouses, on radios and phones and computer and monitoring screens and responding to prisoner's requests as well as judges, attorneys etc.all at once!!

He starts at a nice, normal job Oct. 28th. He has also been recommended for a great job in Washington D.C. as well, at the Justice Dept. based on his experience here!!

We have a vacancy in our building now and no interest. This is the first time that has happened and is pretty scary. We will have to lower the price or something. We are doing new paint and carpet.

I WAS going to post about my massive sales this month but alas, the biggest sales always seem to be the ones that get returned or people change their minds before they ship and cancel them.

I might do a post on that. The rate of returns is definitely proportional to the price of the item! The higher the price, the more likely they are to get returned.

It was still a decent month for my sales on Amazon however.

I hope the new horse lets you sleep!

Hi, Jessica! Happy to hear about your husband's new job and possible change in fortune there!

It might be interesting about the higher ticket items getting returned the most or canceled before shipping. That might be a consideration for people who market higher-priced items. People have buyer remorse or realize that they don't have the budget for it, maybe? Crazy, there! Geez. I'm sorry about that.

Glad to know your sales are decent though!

I started getting feeling back in my fingers so I could type.
Jerry

That's very good!
