Instructions for dealing with losing data

In our daily work, we maybe never think we lose our files until it really happen someday. After losing, most of us, especially for those computer beginners, recovering the lost data is really a difficult thing. As far as I am concerned, in order to not lose our key data on our computer or other portable devices such as ipad, iphone, mac etc, we have to make a good preparation job in case of losing and retrieving.

Here in the article below, we need to keep attention on this three instructions for dealing with losing data in our daily work or life.

Suggestion one: Figure out the lost reason

There are two ways that drives crash: Logical failure and mechanical failure. In a logical failure, the drive's components are physically undamaged, but because of either accidental formatting or a corrupt file system, the drive is not able to find and navigate its own data. However, unless it has been overwritten, that data still exists on your drive.

Suggestion Two: Pick up the professional Data Recovery Software to recover

Recuva (Windows, Free): Personally, Recuva has been indispensible. Made by the same folks behind CCleaner, Recuva makes data recovery simple and easy. if you're only interested in browsing and restoring selected files off of the drive, Recuva is a great option. Alternatively, check out Undelete Plus for Windows.

TestDisk

TestDisk is powerful free data recovery software which can work on Windows/Mac/Linux freely. Once you use it as free Data Recovery Software Mac, this open-source data recovery utility can help you recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again on Mac when these symptoms are caused by using the faulty software, deleting a Partition Table or any other human errors. Besides, it can also recover the lost partitions and reboot the non-booting disks caused by certain types of viruses. (Read more: Best photo recovery mac apps)

CD Recovery Toolbox

CD Recovery Toolbox is a completely free and very unique file recovery program. CD Recovery Toolbox is designed to recover files from damaged or corrupted optical drive discs - CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, HD DVD, etc such as recovering deleted videos on mac.

Undelete Plus

Like Recuva, Undelete Plus assigns a recovery probability to files it finds based on how damaged the file is. You can sort files by type, set filters based on time and size to avoid sifting through every deleted file on your disk, and keep folder structures intact when you perform your recovery.

Suggestion Three: Back up your files regularly

Just storing your files in a different location than your operating system isn't enough; you need to create regular backups of your files, and let's face it, even your back up is subject to failure: cds get scratched, hard drives break, and floppies get erased.

Windows comes with a very cool feature called Backup and Restore, which has been improved for Windows 7. To open Backup and Restore in Windows 7, in the Search box, type Backup, and then click the item in the results list. In Windows Vista, click the Start button, and you should see Backup and Restore Center in the menu. Or just type the phrase into the Search box, and click the item from the results to open it.

Conclusion: Losing data may be trouble, but it really make sense to back up all our datas and recover data on mac.
