Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hi..Im starting to think maybe I should restart and change my niche.. See the thing is, im at course 3,lesson 1 and for example, my first post is not even rank in the top 10 pages

Just because you don't rank right away doesn't mean you won't later on you have barely started. Give it a little time. Keep putting out content.you'll get there. You will.

But the thing that worrys is that the layout of my posts don't look as good as these other websites...I know its good content but its already there...These websites have the same content..
anyway do you know how I can get where im rank for a keyword? that way I could see if it gets better with time...thanks

you need to give it time and just keep writing quality content all the best

i think that your keyword "basic guitar chords" has a big number of competition, maybe you need to have a lower keyword competition with a lower QSR

That one is under 300..but even with my under 100 keywords, these same websites are allwaise there on that first page..

You need to get a lot of content in before you are going to rank, I have over 30 posts and only one on google page 1, but its still early days. Theres never too much competition in anything. The only time I would tell anyone to change niches is if they don't like the subject that much and are sick of it, like me on my first niche as I only chose it thinking of good money. I must say I really love my new one, its an Ireland tourism site. I have quite a bit of competition especially from government funded sites but I am gaining good momentum.

Yea but these sites, specially 2-3 of them, about my same niche are so well made.. I look at my site and im not sure how im going to get rank..

Its early days yet, these other sites may have all cool designs but its all about content. You need to try and gain authority with your keywords, that aint gong to happen over night. The more you write the more authority you will gain with google. Your posts may not be ranking how they are suppose to but they will eventually, google doesnt rank someone instantly even if they have a zero QSR keyword.

We all have competition and were all up against pros, but those that do keep at it and stay determined do succeed. I kniw severla guys here who are now making a great full time income and who had serious competition, world class competition actually. It will take time but you will get there.

It's early days yet Seb, keep going through the training and it does work. I just wrote a blog about the 4mth mark of my second site

Authoring & Writing Content

I ask because alote of my posts will be made with nice complex graphics that im making but might not have that many words...is it really important to have lots of words? thanks.

Content writing is number one images take away from ranking. You should have at least 500 up to 1500 words per page/post

Ouf ok Im goin to have to put a lil more time into them then.. Thanks

Create product reviews and comparing to each other. People like to read others opinions of products the more info they get the better it is for them to but it.

It was getting better and now its in the red...

Well, if it makes you feel better, a few days back, most everyone's site health took a dive because of the plugin issue. If you have more than 5 plugins, your site health would have dropped tremendously. I'd check that and see if that is what happened to you as well.

Otherwise, check out the %'s on posting frequency and all of the others. To get to the numbers, just go to the end of the line that tells you your site health and it says "view" in blue.

This issue of 5 plugins is mystery for me. I am sure I collected 8 only through lessons, and added a few more later, so it is mission impossible as I understand it. Jovo

Yea today I added 4 plugins that where recommended for my theme...
But is the health indication bar really important?or is it just for here on wa?

Most likely that took your plugin % to zero. What I hear people saying is that if their website is running good and not having a slow issue, don't worry about it. The logarithm has obviously changed and just try to keep your plugins to the least amount you need. We need 4 just to get through the training, so go figure. :)

Ok thanks! anyone else on this?
