Guess I better start using my G+ account a bit more! Seems it helps traffic to your website, as bloveds said!

Yes it does! And it also helps to give a little bit of a boost to your Google rankings by increasing your social signals way more than any other social network. I explain and show you how and why here in my blog post from this morning.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/boomergp08/blog/social-signals-and-seo-how-to-boost-your-google-rankings

I think it is not a bad idea to read Steve's tutorial about cooperation with competitions.:)

I will check out,thanks

I use Google + all the time. I also have my site to share each new post with Google +, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, StumbleUpon and Pintrest, and Reddit. I get traffic this way, have had people share with me, and I have posted reviews of books to both my site and theirs when they come out with something new. The more interaction you can get with other bloggers, the better. The more comments the better. I always allow one link with each post -- in fact I encourage it. Two or more links get put in moderation for comments. This way I avoid spam.

That's a really sound plan...thanks for sharing it! Bloveds, I would like to know if you created profiles on the social media sites you mentioned around your website name and/or theme. For instance, a twitter handle similar to @my_niche_site or something similar. I am keenly interested in your method.

I totally agree with you bloveds, I do the same thing. Social sharing is just one of the many ways to not only get a boost in traffic and popularity but ranks as well. Every little bit helps. That's why WA encourages and teaches us to do so.

And yes when you share you should share sparingly because you don't want to come off as a spammer.

Boomer and bloveds, I sincerely appreciate your input on this topic. It seems that I must be more willing to expand my comfort zone. This was a blind spot of mine -- I thank you both for helping me to see it.

Thank Kyle. I can't speak for bloveds but I learned it from Kyle's training here at WA and now I see why it is so important and how well it works.

@MD_Incognito
I have a company name, Ivy Glenn LLC, so some (LinkedIN) and Facebook are in that name. For most others I just use Ivy Glenn. I use this as my pen name for anything online. Since I have more than one site, I did not want to create accounts for each one... though I did start out that way. It gets too hard to manage. I also moved all my Google Analytics account together too, as I am approved for Adsense. This way I do not have to start the process all over again.

That makes sense bloveds...I have a pretty well established twitter acct, but I don't want to start ramming different IM links down people's throats. I will tweet a link here or there, but I've been toying with setting up another acct strictly for business (but like you've mentioned, I do not want to overwhelm myself). I appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

I look forward to your insights on G+.

Do you have a Google Plus account? If you do you would have a better opportunity of sharing your links there within a Google Plus Community that shares your same niche interest. In return it can help to slightly boost your Google rankings because every time you share your webpage and post to Google Plus you get an uptick of your social signal number on your respective webpage or post

But posting your link in someones comments on their website can be considered spam and some spam blockers may block your link from ever being seen. Plus by sharing your link in a comment on a website does nothing to boost your rankings with Google.

In a couple of hours check out a new blog post here on WA that I am currently constructing on this exact topic. I will be explaining why and how to share your links within a Google Plus Community and why and how it will help your rankings.

Boomer, you really seem to know your thing with regards to G+. Personally, I hate google's tactics of strong-arming & coercion, by automatically enrolling me into their crappy social network (but that rant is for another time).

My question to you is have you found a significant boost in traffic to your site from your activities there? I certainly plan to read your post when you finish, since I am very weak in this area.

I have DEFINITELY seen a boost in traffic. In my blog post I show you in a picture that I almost got triple the amount of social upticks than I got from Facebook. This doesn't surprise me much because Facebook in my mind, and many others I know, sucks compared to Google+. Even Pinterest seems more popular than Facebook as Kyle points out in Level 4 training.

What is it about Google Plus social network that you don't like?

Weeeell......I haven't really tried it yet. But what I definitely DON'T like is how google updated their gmail accounts by auto enrolling everyone into G+. I was pretty ticked off by that.

I tend to enjoy twitter the most. They don't need to know a lot about you, which appeals to me. I like preserving some degree of privacy, cause if you put it out there -- anybody can see it (& the NSA will see it regardless).

As for IM, the best route for me would probably be to get a presence going around my site. Personal feelings aside, I'm all for what works!

I've had a Gmail account for years and I was never auto-enrolled into Google Plus. It is true that if you have a Gmail account you can sign up for any of Google's services using the same password but I never experienced any auto-enrolling. When Kyle tells everyone to set up a Google + account in order to get Google Authorship on our websites, I had to enroll.

If you haven't tried Google Plus yet you will because it is a necessary part of the training if you want your websites to get ranked. Yeah it may seem a little like Big Brother watching over you but I certainly do not care. I have nothing to hide.

I have nothing to hide either. But it's interesting how privacy in the digital age has become so.....passe.

It's not worth fighting it because you can't prevent it. So most people feel, why fight it?

If we not spamming I think is wise to do so.
