I would like to set up ebay on my site to sell some of my images from within the gallery sections http://photogeartipsandtricks.co.uk/scotland Any ideas how I can do it?
Why use Ebay and pay their fees? You could do this easily yourself by setting up a Paypal payment button, or use the free Woo Commerce plugin. :)

It's not something I've done myself but I wonder if you can set up an Ebay account with the images for sale and then link to the Ebay listing from your site?
That's probably a clumsy way forward, hopefully others will have better suggestions!
By the way, the photographs are stunning, they really capture the essence of the Scottish landscape.

I am using a .co.uk URL and my site has been up and running for about three weeks. I know thats only a short time. The site has beed indexed how long till is shows up in ranking?
Like you, I got caught up in the "am I ranked yet?" frenzy at the beginning. I'd get up every morning, check my Google Analytics and my Google Webmaster Tools, check my vendor reports to see if I'd had any clicks - and come away disappointed. I think it took well over two months to get a REAL ranking on - like - Page 12 or something.
All that is fine - no need to stop doing it (except to avoid having to beat yourself up every day). But hopefully it will motivate you to do two things: Research more great keywords, and write more great content.
I've read some of your articles and they're good. Keep researching those keywords and make sure you've listed them in a Heading in the first paragraph and maybe once or twice thereafter. Be creative about it!
As you do your keyword research, continue jotting down ideas for articles. I often see ideas pop up in a list of keywords - subjects I'm NOT writing about right that minute, but show over 100 monthly volume and a low competition. I jot those down in my little notebook to work on later.
You have way more info in your head than you can even imagine. For me, it wasn't until I had about 12 solid posts down that I managed to get steady traffic on ONE of them - and that, I think, was from a picture. Now I have 42 posts with over 100 pictures and I see between 30 and 60 sessions a day (baking is a weekend activity - so it really jumps up on Thurs - Sun).
And remember - Google ranking isn't everything. It's a means to an end. It's a way to get people to your site - so if it doesn't translate into Sessions, it's not much good. There are other ways to get people to your site. Make up some business cards and hand them to friends and ask them to check out your latest project. Work on your social media outlets (Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, etc.) to build up your network of friends and share your latest posts there.
Google ranking is inevitable with your hard work. I have no doubt you'll see results soon.
Hi Don, Thnks for the reply. I am not too concerned about ranking but was wondering about how long it takes the average person to see their site rank. I have made the decision to stick at it. If rankings come thats great.

It's a bit early for rankings. I know you need to keep building content on your site for things to start ranking.
That all depends on how well you did your keyword research and how well your content relates and "tackles" that keyword.
One thing people tend to do is get caught up on the results. Just keep creating content for your site and the rankings will show up least expected. Otherwise you'll find yourself looking back and forth at analytic tools and searching google for your page, when in reality you should be just filling your site with more content.
Don't worry about the outcome...just enjoy the journey!
Absolutely right... You shouldn't be worrying about rankings until you already have a good bit of content on your site. If you don't have a lot of content, your site won't rank anyway.
There are a lot of factors that go into ranking, but submitting your sitemap to Google via Webmaster tools will vastly decrease the time it takes.
WA and most of the more experiences WA users recommend .com domain extensions because they are easier to rank and people tend to default to them, so you might try that as well.

Kathy's right, but not all themes allow this. So if it doesn't work in yours, when you're writing your post you can add a 'read' more' line wherever you want the post to cut off. It's along the same line as the 'bold' 'italics' edit buttons. Right at the end, second from last. Hope this helps :)

No problem. I find that having a snippet of your posts gives people the opportunity to scroll on if they find the subject not to their liking. I know this isn't ideal, but at least it means they only scroll through some of what they don't want rather than a whole post. It means that they will get to something that they ARE interested in quicker. Kind of like a TV listing. If you maybe try and have an image up at the top too, it grabs people's attention to your post and they're more likely to click on 'read more' :)

How do I have only short intros on my home page?

Kathy's right, but not all themes allow this. So if it doesn't work in yours, when you're writing your post you can add a 'read' more' line wherever you want the post to cut off. It's along the same line as the 'bold' 'italics' edit buttons. Right at the end, second from last. Hope this helps :)
