How Giving First Can Help Your Online Business
Let me ask you something,
When it comes to your online business...are you willing to give something of value away...
FOR FREE?
Well, neither would I.
I mean, why would I give away something that I spent time and effort to work on so easily, and to give it away FREELY I might add.
It just didn't make any sense to me.
I was stuck in that mindset until one day, I came across an interesting article on “Cialdini’s Law Of Reciprocation”. It is a principle professor named Robert Cialdini came up with.
Basically, the Law Of Reciprocation is this :
Whenever a person receives a gift, they feel obligated to RECIPROCATE.
So, whenever you give away something that is deemed valuable by the recipient, you will get back far more than you gave.
Finally, I saw the bigger picture.
Now do you see the potential of it all when it comes to marketing?
If you can offer something of value to your prospects, you are actually creating a massive buying opportunity.
Many online businesses have already adopted this strategy. You can see it everywhere. Free reports, free e-books, free software download, free services offered...etc...etc.
It's never too late to get it on this strategy if you haven't done so already.
Just follow these 3 insanely simple steps:
Step 1 : Come up with something of value to your visitors which is related to your business niche/services/product.
Step 2 : Only after that, you can start your pitch/sale/offer (This is when the law of reciprocation kicks in. Because you gave them something of value, they are obliged to show their support by actually buying what you are offering.)
Step 3: Rinse and repeat.
Whenever you offer something of value for FREE, people will have the conception that if you can offer something for free that is already so valuable, then whatever you are actually selling must be tons better in value and quality.
And of course, whatever you are offering should indeed meet or exceed their expectations.
Remember, YOU hold the power to get things rolling. So you should come up with something of value first.
