Some Times, The Way Forward Is Not a Clear Road!
Morning all,
You know that I have been here a while- and you know how I think that Wealthy Affiliate is as near perfect as humans can make it! All the education and training are here- so what is the news that I would like to share?
Really, I am asking when the "blinkers" come off? (blinkers are used for horse racing to keep the horse from being distracted from the path he is to run) Is there an official ceremony that lets us know we have finally "graduated" and do not need them anymore?
I have had to have "blinkers" to help stop the distractions of all the stuff in my inbox! Why are they blinding me for what is here?
My Story
A review of my site made me realize that I had fallen short of providing "Free Education" information and was some work needed in that area. So- a post was planned to "Learn To Blog For Free." After all, this was a new field for me. I produced "content" but I really did not blog!
Several hours were used up researching, taking notes! Signing up to learn for free at sites where "Blogging" was the main interest, according to their site bio-
You know all the stuff we do when getting information ready to share!
More time organizing notes, figuring out if I really knew how to present this so one could benefit from the post. Have a better idea how to get into the blogging gig!
Got started, was about 1000 words into the post, working hard to get the ideas from head and notes to fingers, and soon was really in "the ZONE". You know that place that makes writing so much fun, and- a flash of blue across the screen! DELETED!
Being a believer in the knowledge that everything happens for a reason, I took a break, came back got all ready and started trying to remember how I got to "the ZONE." struggling along to get going, of course, I wondered if this was one that should not be written! What was the issue!
I had taught myself all the basics of getting started from scratch with a blog site while doing this research! The information was thought out, researched. What was going on? As I got about 500 words in, the struggle continued! I reread my notes about all the boring and unfun stuff of setting up a blog site. Deciding if this was a personal site, or a site to make money, free hosting, free site building decisions!
Then it dawned on me! Why go to so much trouble and do all this yourself, here and there online! You could build a site here at Wealthy Affiliate to blog! You can keep it forever if that is all you want from a site! For free! Get the free lessons, get your site set up and enjoy forever! You do not have all the technical stuff to be concerned about!
The really great thing is that we all know how addictive it is here if there is an aspiring marketer who wants to see their blog go from "blogging only" to an income producing site! The ambition is probably there, here is a way to help the member see the possibilities!
I felt so silly when I realized how much time I had wasted in research, when it was not needed, However, maybe not needed for the post, but for my personal growth, an apparently important step!
Have you had a time that you were just astounded by not seeing the forest for the trees? Please share, I am apparently a slow learner and need some help!

WA is a shortcut from a lot of frustrations. Better than a backup. Probably the largest archival online group I have ever joined.

You are right. Everything happens for a reason. I feel that research is never a waste of time. What might not be useful at the time may be very helpful on a future page or post. So chalk that up to experience in you account for later use!
As far as when do the "blinkers" come off.... I am not sure I can answer because I don't think mine are off yet!

I have become stagnant on content. I might be coming out of it but nothing new for almost two weeks. So I have been working on WA
yes for me it as been like a yoyo sometimes your up and some times you are down but as long as you keep moving that is what matters all the best Max
I guess if we knew it all, there would be no need to meet and share experiences!

Nice post I have to say for me it has been like the song "life is a roller coaster" the up's and downs etc.. it is still pushing forwards that matters

Sami I think content is the key however I am behind on my schedule in that department due to a couple of other projects
We are all in a hurry this day and age. Born in the early 40's I was in a hurry but everything was slow then because of the world war.
Now I want it to slow down and wait for me to catch up as it is going too fast.
A slow learner I am as well. Why?
Even the fast learners think they are slow learners as we all naturally want what we want sooner than later. .Tom.
Tom, Thanks for your take on how we all act! That there are many different speeds is apparent, but I know we are fortunate to have projects we love and enjoy working with. So I guess we will grateful for whatever speed we find ourselves moving!

Blinders. It's blinders that keep the horse from being distracted. Blinkers keep the horse in back from getting run over when he tries to pass the one in front. In any case, you can take your blinders off when you're no longer distracted.When you are making a reasonable amount of money, are getting everything done around the house you want to. When you no longer feel like you are sacrificing some projects in order to grow this one, and you no longer experience stress trying to get out a new blog consistently. When you can answer some of these questions with authority and confidence, you've turned a corner of freedom and serenity. I can't even see the corner yet, but what the hay, I don't have anything more important to do anyway.

The lessons here are sometimes hard won!
I guess I will run forever without seeing much of the bright shiny stuff! The house and stuff done- well- not yet. Consistent blogs without stress- no, not yet! Playing trade off to keep my Wealthy Affiliate habit going- not yet!
However, it is getting easier!

When I was a kid sometimes learning stuff seemed so difficult. Yelled at, chastised, embarrassed and then one day it just clicked. Then it was time to move on to learn something new. That is the way this is at WA. Some day you'll just look around and it will suddenly dawn on you how much easier it is than today is now.
That is how this stuff is. Each time I redo something it gets easier!
Some day, all the learning will gather and do some good!

Ah Sami forest for the trees happens to me on a daily basis. The key is not to get phased by it. There are a few of us in the over think it club. Have a great and productive day. Loved your post we need more of them.
