Need Web-Design Help!
2
Hello website gurus!
I'm finding myself needing a Web-Design For Dummies book or something. I mean, my site is actually pretty great and it functions well (thanks to some pretty intuitive design tools)... but when I want to tweak it here and there by altering any code or adding CSS, I'm pretty lost. (I swear I was good at that in the MySpace days though! Somehow...) Is there a resource that anyone recommends that could help walk me through it like I'm 14 again? 😂

To be honest, I'd advise against this - it's easy to get "stuck" trying to get your website looking great, but it's really not important in terms of seeing success.
A better plan of action is:
1. Pick a solid, simple, fast-loading theme (GeneratePress)
2. Focus on creating content
9 times out of 10, unless you're an expert, altering the design of your website will hinder it rather than help it.
That's fair. I am using GeneratePress now, I started with a different theme and I was getting pretty frustrated with it.
I guess I was looking to feel a little more independent when it comes to problem solving any issues that come up. I had to work with the support team earlier on an issue with the mobile version of my site, and I felt like I was fumbling quite a bit.
But you're right (as always), I just need to stay focused on content right now! Thanks 😉
