When a Marketer and Designer Work Together (And Why I Talk About Him So Much)

Am I obsessed with my partner because I keep talking about him?

Well- don't blame me.

Blame the fact that I'm a marketer - he's a designer and somehow our brains decided to team up like a perfectly annoying duo.

Like sorry (not sorry)

I talk about what I live.

And what I live is- strategy + design and ideas + execution.

So yeah, he's going to come up obviously.

How our roles come together

On our social media projects:

• I focus on strategy
  → what to say, who to target, how to position it
• He focuses on design
  → how it looks, feels, and visually connects

Instead of doing everything…

we do what we’re best at

Marketing gives direction.
Design brings it to life.

Why I talk about us in both work + life

It’s not just for the story.

It’s because:

• our work overlaps with our daily life
• ideas come from real conversations
• what we build together reflects both of us

But even then, I keep one thing clear:

work is work
personal is personal

How we don’t let personal affect professional

This part is intentional.

We don’t:

• let emotions run decisions
• carry personal tension into work
• blur responsibilities

When it’s work:
we focus, stay in our roles, and get things done

When it’s personal:
we switch off and leave work there

That separation? That’s what keeps everything stable.
