Have you gone for the Pro yet?
There has been a lot of excitement about the Black Friday Sale that we have all been waiting for. It is an amazing deal that I hope everyone takes advantage of. I am very thankful for WA and the support that we receive here.
As we get busy building up our business and growing out our site we should take a moment and consider how many people are contributing to our success.
We have members who take time away from their work to answer a question for a fellow member, there are people who write blogs or build training. The quality of information and people here is simply exceptional. I would like to say thank you to the community for all of your help. I would also like to thank the support team that works so hard in the background to keep our sites working smoothly. It has been a great two years and I am looking forward to another one.
Having said all of this, I think we should all also take a moment to think about the time, energy and resources it takes to design and build a theme template.
All of these lovely templates that we are using free of charge are the creation of someone struggling to make some money online. These designers must be very much like us. They allow us to test drive their product free of charge, knowing that many of us will never do the upgrade or even visit their site. It is the cost of doing business I guess.
I am not the type of person to drastically change the look of my site all the time. I will not be changing themes every week as the whim hits. I love the options to personalize my site with more colour and font options that the Pro version offers.
I can also afford to invest $69 in my business for a one time purchase of the template that I am using. I understand that all of us may not be so lucky just yet (keep building and we should all get to that point) but I think, if you can afford it, you should do the upgrade. It shows you are serious about your business and that you are willing to support others who are to.
Black Friday and Boxing Day sales might be a good time to find a deal.
If you can't afford the upgrade, I encourage you to, go to your template designers site and leave positive feedback. Help them increase their SEO if nothing else.
It is the WA way to help others, right? We should all find a way to give back when we can.
I am green to website design but I have tried to use Muse in the past to build my own site. It was not pleasant! Today I have WA and templates. Short of hiring someone, which defeats the purpose, I can’t think of a better way to work.
I hope everyone has a good Black Friday promotion. I look forward to reading new contributions and meeting new members.
I would love to know if you have done the upgrade and if you feel it has made a positive difference to your site?

Greetings, Tara.
What you expressed about the support we get from the community is so true. It still amazes me how often people went above and beyond the norm to lend a helping hand....knowing that they would not benefit financially from my success.
Site Support is incredible, but I'm so glad you mentioned about the designers of the 3,000 different templates we have access to; I never really thought about the time it takes to create just one template!
I missed out on the Black Friday special last year, so I intend to take advantage of it this time around! Can't wait to get rid of those monthly charges!
May your 2nd year be more prosperous than the first, Tara.
