Writers Block: Conquering the Struggle

The Struggle is Real!

The struggle of getting blocked by the mind to create a piece with content has been a struggle for me for quite some time now. There were times that I was so overwhelmed and stressed to create a simple thing to call my own and make revenue that my mind had a stop sign at every corner. I guess I just wanted everything to be perfect; but I've heard and learned that there is no such thing.

However, pushing myself to be a better me each and everyday has been a learning curve every step of the way. Everyday I wake up and blessed is another day to take on challenges and overcome the struggle with making content and posts across the audience that I target.

With the struggle to do so; it had me intrigued with the question on how many people struggle with writers block and how to conquer it.

Out of site; Out of mind

There are a couple of things that puts a creative mind to a frozen state of helplessness:

1) Fear: Our ideas seems too far fetched and overwhelming, that we are afraid to start our piece. We end up procrastinating and spend all this time searching through the web for inspiration and trying to brainstorm our content that we build up so much information in our minds that we don't even know where to start. But remember: Nothing is perfect.

2) Lack of our own confidence: We are afraid that our intellectual capabilities are not up to the task of writing a decent piece. But also, there's also a chance to draft and keep revising our creation.

3) Stress in life: We all have lives and whose to say that we shouldn't live it, right? Of course we all have other things that we need to take care of; bills, families, work, hobbies, etc. Sometimes that the stress in our everyday lives clouds our minds and we can't put our focus into our work.

However....

There are more ways than a couple to conquer the struggle to create a piece with content:

1) The obvious choice; WRITE. It may seem obvious but it is also true. When you walk, you just go and do it without hesitation. Writing should be the same. The important part is the process of putting words on a piece of paper. Try not to overthink it by wanting the piece to be perfect. Instead, just write one word and have it take you from there. Like I said earlier, you can always review and revise it later once your content has been drafted.

2) Open your mind. To create content, you also have to understand your keywords. Open your mind to the information that is given and use search engines to understand the content given within the keywords. You'll be able to use that to your advantage to also understand your targeted audiences based on the products/contents within your piece. Look for inspiration in keywords.

3) Research on what your audience is asking. If you know your audience well, then you will know where they would like to hangout online and what they are asking to buy. You will understand their influences, their community, and what products they are interested in.

4) Re-frame your existing content into another format that captures your audiences with keywords. Do not re-purpose your content for the sake of inspiration, however you must see if it fits your overall content strategy. You also can't expect to create pieces with content if you don't read and understand great content. You have to keep updated with your industry in order for you to provide real content to your audiences.

The Road Ahead.

With my own experience with writer's block, I have come a long way following steps like the ones that I have provided to create and understand content within my pieces, blogs, and even my website. I have overcome an obstacle that I am sure that I will pass again later, but I also know how to conquer the struggle and keep my content intact.

I'm ecstatic to be able to provide some content within my first few blogs on WA!! :)

I just hope that I provided you all with some helpful tips that I believe will help with the blockage because I just published this during a writer's block on my own and I just provided a piece on this blog and it went from there to here (the end)

Best luck on everybody's journey <3

Great post and thank you for it. I do writer's block and I get frustrated with it. I'm saving this on my bookmark bar so I can easily access it.
