How I got rid of a virus
I some how downloaded a virus. It put ads all over my site and dashboard so it blocked any and all changes, updates, and publishing b/c they were covered in ads.
I ran MSE and HomeRepair with no success so I went into my control panel and uninstalled everything I had downloaded on the date the virus started. Problem solved!
Maybe this is common knowledge but maybe this will help someone. - Sadie

There is a free 3rd party tool called MalwareBytes that will detect and eliminate the virus for you. I have been an IT Technician for 15 years and it's never failed me. Tip: After it completes, restart your computer and run it again to be sure it cleaned the system.
Thank you! I'm finding myself home alone more often these days so I can't just ask a kid to help me and I don't think grabbing a random kid walking by my house is a good idea ;)

Phew.......you sorted out what could have become a real problem for you so well done.
I had to go to my local pc repair guy, he sorted it out and installed some more memory so that I could do more work more quickly so it was a win/win for me but it didn't come cheap!!
