Finding Affiliate Programs
Depending upon your niche finding affiliate programs might become a daunting task. My website cybernetcounselor.com deals with issues of mental health such as depression, stress, anger management, etc. and I encourage individuals to seek professional guidance to deal with these issues. Logically, I would want to affiliate with online counseling services. This niche however is in its infancy therefore there are not a lot of affiliate programs available.
When the method of searching "affiliate +", and I used every keyword I could think of (online counseling, e counseling, e therapy, online counselor) I knew I had to try something else because the results I was getting lead me to psychics and many other things that try to appear they are online counselors. So......I began searching for the services themselves without the addition of "affiliate +" and going to their sites to see if they had a link there to become an affiliate.
This method was proving to be unfruitful as well. I was getting very frustrated and thinking that maybe I had picked a niche that was not going to produce for me. I was determined however to get this done.
I took a couple days away from my site and started dealing with other things I needed to accomplish. When I started back again I had an epiphany! Every one of these sites had a "Contact Us" button. I thought why not! So I started using the contact buttons and writing to these places and asking them if they had an affiliate program or were interested in starting one. I have received multiple responses either telling me how to apply or that they do not have one at this time but will now look into starting one and thanking me for the work I am doing on my site.
My point here is....When you keep hitting brick walls you shouldn't just stop. Yes it can be very frustrating but this is when you need to step outside of the box and find a way over, under, or around that wall because it does exist. Walk away and come back with fresh eyes. It's there - you just have to be creative and find it!!

It is good to see people thinking outside of the box. Therapist have groups they belong to. You might even consider contacting the head of the group and making a small presentation to them.
Yes, I am a member of the Arizona Counselors Association. The jury is still out with the professional organizations whether or not this type of counseling is ethical. I say if you can reach people that need services that cannot get them any other way it is a good thing.
That is good philosophy.Try targeting places that sell books, the likes of Amazon sell books and lots of other products and they have an affiliate program, there are bound to be others.Good Luck Friend.
Thanks. Yes I already am affiliated with Amazon and have links to some self help books. My main focus tho is finding online counseling services for those who cannot or desire not to seek traditional "in office" counseling.

Great advice, thanks! Would you want to recommend books or only services? Because I know there are a lot of books on these subjects out there, that could be another way to get an affiliate program.
already doing the affiliate program with Amazon where they have tons of the books. Have a couple of them linked on my site already.
