SEO Mistakes

I recently came across a blog that was discussing SEO mistakes. Some of which I had no idea, nor remember covered in class. I have had some real problems with SEO rankings and this might be a real problem.

1. Use of manufacturers descriptions. I have read that even though we may be affiliate marketers how do we promote their product. Lets be real, many to the majority of items we do not use or haven't used, so how do we give a great description or product review? I'm still working on that part but from what I have found out is that using manufacturers description can guarantee your site will be banned from the search engines.

2. What this does the filters will see its not unique pages because it the exact same copy from Amazon or which ever company is promoting the products. This can be a problem for some our sights that have hundreds or thousand products. It would be better to narrow the list down make the description unique for each of our products. This is something I am going to do and it should help get my SEO rating up.

Another SEO issue is non-unique titles. This I feel isn't a problem for most of us because from what I have given feed back we all like personalize our sites names and titles of our pages. With that said just coping a product name in our titles may get us filtered out.

3. One last thing i want to share are friendly or speaking urls. This is something i never thought of, but makes since. I think this something was covering a bit in the certification class or at least kind of touched on it. Here is a example of a speaking url:

You can see that someone looking may enter in the Keywords for a harry potter book may enter the title of the book, or substitute for what ever product you may be selling, promoting, or service.
