How I failed but still suceeded - the beauty of online!
Christmas in New Zealand is all about the family, the beach and long summer holidays - and this one has been among the best. Brilliant weather and a good NZ cricket team has helped make this a great holiday period.
Spending time rejuvenating with family and friends - fishing, playing on the beach, cricket games on the lawn, sitting around chatting - all make for a wonderful time.
The intention over this period was to keep my website developing - posting at least every week and charging through more WA training. But this time - just not too be.
This is where I failed
I had planned to blog, write articles and build my online business more.
I had intended to keep building my social media profile
I had definitely intended to get a whole lot further through the WA training
My website health has dropped and no doubt Google has not been impressed either!
But I succeeded
Over the past month of little activity I have succeeded however:
I still earned some affiliate commission from my website - so the business is working
I spent wonderful time with the family - the most important
I got on top of various projects around the home
Things return to normal again the first week of February when our 4 children return to school. Our summer holidays this year started mid-December, so a long break. My 3rd child starts school as she turns 5 in February. Our youngest will start some mornings at pre-school in April when she turns 3. Life will become more flexible for me this year and we'll just continue to slowly and steadily build the online business!
Ah - Summer!

It is so important to keep your priorities in best order and it sounds like you did an excellent job of that so there are no failures. Maybe progress on your site slowed down a little but now it will be blessed with restoration and will continue to grow! Blessings, Christa :)

Thanks for the comment Christa - you are right and may we always be mindful of this. I am by nature a pretty focused person and goal driven - but do like to just enjoy life too. Its important to keep these things in some sort of balance. Appreciate the feedback.
Enjoyed the linked post too - a very good and thought provoking post.
Have a great year

Richard, nice to see you back. :)
You are right, to slowly and steadily build the online business is the right way to go here. ;)
Thanks. So many ideas and so much to do - and so much still to learn - but we will get there one day at a time! Hope things are going well.
Yes, one day at a time, you are right. I am doing fine, thanks for yr kind concern, Richard. :)
Great story and the best thing is when you are really doing well, you can still have holidays and the business will take care of itself! Olive
Lovely pictures.I hear New Zealand is beautiful,is this not where "The Lord of the rings" trilogy was filmed
Hi
Yep - it is one of the most beautiful countries - just 4 million people in a country the size of the UK or Japan- and miles from anywhere! And yes -Lord of the Rings was filmed here. We are blessed.
Thanks for the comments.

You probably got more accomplished by resting. It will help creativity.
The kids grow up, but the computer will always be there. Take care. :)
