Today, I'm celebrating my 4th sales commission. Wahoo! Looking at my stats, I've noticed that people are purchasing products at 1:00 or 2:00 am (my time) so the thought of making money while you sleep is extremely rewarding. It's always a nice surprise when you're least expecting it. :)
I promote different products within my niche on the Shareasale site, who I have really become to like. Their list of merchants that I participate with is all in one place, so this allows me to view my sales on one page. I particularly like that the merchant is held accountable through participating with Shareasale as I have had an issue with a record of my commission with one merchant in the past. Being in the customer service business, you would think they would know better. I actually had to tell them I was going to stop promoting their products for them to actually reach out to me. Least to say, it was very disappointing.
It is so critical to research and know who you are working with as you want to make sure the company is in good standing and is playing by the rules, so to speak. Communication is key in this business. You should be able to get your questions answered if contacting the company directly with any questions and a big part of that is also trust.

This company I had my 4th sale with works well with their affiliates and I wholeheartedly believe in their products. It also helps that you are passionate and believe in the products you are promoting as most people are purchasing based off trusting what you have written in a post or a review. I personally am an emotional buyer, so that's what I try to convey to my readers along with educating them on a particular product.
Bottom line is, we all know its hard work and time-consuming to build our websites and create content and reviews, but it's a great feeling when you start to see the site your created from scratch come to life and start working for you. For the new comers here at WA, yes you can do it! This is the best platform to learn, grow and thrive with the most caring and supportive community of people that will offer their assistance, so you will never feel alone in your journey. After all, people helping people is what it's all about. :)
