My Journey So Far

I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for about 4 weeks now. I am amazed at how much progress I have made in such a short time.

In this blog, I am going to discuss my journey so far. Hope you enjoy reading it.

COMPLETE BEGINNER

I was a complete beginner when I joined Wealthy Affiliate. I thought I knew a fair bit about building a website, as I have tried this several times and used several platforms.

However, upon beginning the certification training, I quickly realized I had been going about things all wrong! I have come to learn the importance of content and engagement, as a pose to just trying to sell products in a hope that somebody will buy.

COURSE 1 COMPLETE - WHAT NEXT?

I really enjoyed the course 1 certification lessons. I had chosen a niche (or I thought I had), and I had made a start on building the website. I felt like there wasn't the passion in the niche I had chosen, and I wasn't sure how to progress the website. I thought that the best thing to do would be to navigate to the affiliate bootcamp.

I completed phase 1 and I was really getting into things. I became premium member after 6 days as I wanted to carry on with the training. I was not going to be giving up easily, as I could see the quality and importance of the step by step training and tutorials.

AFFILIATE BOOTCAMP - THE ANSWER?

I progressed through to phase 2 of the affiliate bootcamp training. I got as far as lesson 7 and started to feel completely overwhelmed. I found it very difficult to come up with ideas for content. I sat back and thought about it. I decided that I needed to go back to the certification training. I thought, as is highlighted here at Wealthy Affiliate, that I had to feel passionate about the subject of my niche. The fact is, if it is a passion, you enjoy doing the research and writing the content, plus you are learning more and more about the niche. You likely already have a fair bit of knowledge about the subject which is also a big bonus.

WHAT NICHE DID I CHOOSE?

I chose art and craft, as it has always been a big hobby of mine. I did think about this idea in the very beginning, but I was thinking more about products than content, which is why I chose something else initially. I am so pleased that I chose art and craft. I have already had some good feedback from fellow Wealthy Affiliate members, and it makes you feel like you have achieved something,

WHAT AM I UP TO NOW?

Right at this moment in time, I am on the last lesson of course 2 of the certification program. I have several posts on my website, and with each post, I am learning more and more and feel like I can get onto a roll with more ideas. I feel excited at this point because I have comments, my ranking is increasing, and I am gaining followers.

WHAT HELP HAVE I RECEIVED?

I have received lots of help and support from the community here. If I have asked questions in live chat, they are answered within minutes, and you get exactly the information you need to achieve whatever it is you needed help with.

There is also the private message facility, where you can send and receive messages privately if needs be.

The ultimate help is the training itself. Without it I would not have known where to start!

I am happy to continue with the training and continue progressing and learning. I feel I am starting to get somewhere now, and I am keener than ever to make this work.
