Can They Really Do That?
I was surfing a paid ad platform last week, when, as i clicked on an ad, what could I see pop up but my profile page here at WA. I was stunned! I wondered, "can they really do that"?
Here it was, big and bold before me, my own picture and page staring back at me. I asked myself if I had done the ad and forgotten that I had. I looked at the name of the advertiser and no, it was not mine. I concluded that if someone was promoting WA he had to be a member here, so I checked. No luck. The username for the ad was not among the names here at WA.
I decided to leave it alone.
But then, surfing the same site again last night, up popped another site with my profile page again. This time under another user. I looked at it in amazement and wondered why someone would use another person's profile in their ad. I haven't got a clue.
So here am I, requesting the assistance of all you knowledgeable people here in this WA community. Is it okay to use another person's profile page in your ads? Shouldn't you at least get the person's approval first? If it is wrong, what can be done to have the situation corrected?
Or am I making much ado about nothing?
Please let me know what you think about this situation.
Thank you very much for your replies.

Hi Russell,
The answers below are correct. If you are signed in WA, even if it's on another tab, say in Chrome or IE, Any WA link you click, even though it has another's Affiliate link, will open up under your account.
Cheers,
Michael
Hello Russell, the only thing I can think of is that if you stay signed into Wealthy Affiliate and someone is promoting their affiliate link online when you see the add you will see your own profile simply because you are still signed into the site.
Whereas other people are going to see the Wealthy Affiliate homepage or signup page, not yours, only you can see you. Does that make sense?
Maybe someone else can explain it better but that is what I have noticed.
That's a real good question. Maybe you should contact Kyle or Carson or maybe Site Support. Give them the link and see what they say.
That's the only answer I have for you.

Looks like you got the answer to your great question and I had seen this once before and wondered the same thing.
Thank you for asking for us all though

Glad to be of service Douglas.
Asking one question here can seem to help out twenty people that read them.

That is true. I have learned a lot from other people's question.
Learning daily and improving daily is another great part of this community for sure.
