Black Friday, What's That?

It's the talk of the Wealthy Affiliates. One of every few blogs posted talks about this event. I received a detailed message for Kyle about it. So I ask, black Friday, what's that about?
I must say that I have heard the term a few times but never paid it much attention. I realize now that it has to do with sales and an increase in sales.
So is this a holiday like Christmas or is it just a time when businesses offer great deals to their customers and therefore sales soar?
For someone without an email list, how should I go about promoting this event? I have looked at the lovely banner that I was linked to from Kyle's message and along with his detailed motivation, I must admit that I am pumped.

So where do I begin?
Is social media the best traffic source that I can target?
What about landing pages, lead capture pages etc, none of which I have? Should I use them? If yes, can you point me to the resources/tools that I can use to build them please.
Kyle also spoke about giving away bonuses of my own. I do not have a clue as to what can be offered nor do I think I have anything that can be offered. What do you use as a bonus offer, especially with little or no budget?
I know from experience that this is a very helping and helpful community. I look forward to hearing your suggestions. I hope to be able to cash in on the opportunity along with the rest of you.
