Dealing with bipolar disorder stigma
Hey everyone!
I've been absent from WA for a while now, because I've been having a lot of difficulty dealing with my bipolar disorder. This isn't something I usually talk about publicly, but with everything going on in the world and the continuing stigma around mental illness, I decided to do my part and share a little bit of my story.

Be warned, it's a bit long :-) If any of you are impacted by mental illness, I'd love to hear from you, feel free to comment, or email me runningpilot@irunforattention.com
Good to be back and hope to connect/reconnect with all of you!

I left a comment on your site. I love your article I hope that it opens some eyes. The stigma is why a lot of people never get the help they need.

Thank you for highlighting how bipolar and mental illness affects you. Hopefully your frank discussion about how your life is affected by this will help others recognize symptoms and find the help they need to help themselves. By talking about the commonalities others share help removes the stigma associated with mental illness.
Our niece had her life turned upside down in her first year of college when it was determined she too was bipolar. She had to drop out of school to find a doctor and the right meds to help her stabilize herself. Now she is back in college close to home and doing very well. It took time and different meds to find the right combination to help but she is back to doing well. I wish the same for you - finding the right person and medicine to help you in your day to day struggles. Keep spreading the word, enlightening one soul at a time.
Hugs :)
