Planning on Going All the Way!
Yes, I have made plenty starts and stops. I have been chasing that next shiny object for too long. Though I took and paid for many motivational and entrepreneurial success classes, after they were over, they went into the file.
A few of the things that I got and understood, I tried out haphazardly and said they didn't work. Then, on to the next shiny object. (For those that are not familiar with the term. It mean the next thing that I thought would save me.). I collected so many shiny objects, that I even recollected them, because I forgot I had already paid for that one.
Believe me, it is not because they didn't work. No, really because I had some great courses like Wealthy Affiliate, Tony Robbin's Challenge and even 2T platforms with some of the great names. But I was not following through. I repeat, I was not following though. I would get so overwhelmed that I would just stopped. Also, I had so much information, that I did not know where to find it all. Not only was I buying every help offer out there. (They saw me coming!).
I also paid for VAs or techs to get myself organized but some of these people had only one element of the puzzle themselves and most of the time that element was not what I needed to move forward.
So, now, I have been out here a little over 2 years, what have I learned?
(That should have been my title.lol) Well, one thing I learned is that this is a selling business. And that everyone is trying to sell you something no matter how well it is packaged. To be in this business, you have to sell. So first, I had to understand that, and find a way to make money by selling , but, also where I was helping people. I had to tell myself that if I just wanted to help people, that was possible. And if I didn't want to make money, I could keep giving my product away for free.
So, after scolding myself. I then, looked around to solve my own problem. I think one of my problems after, not wanting to "sell", was, "I didn't know who to sell to. The concepts of niche, audience, traffic, customer, avatar, etc., just went right over my head. I was still out there talking to the wrong people.
Remember, I wanted to help everybody. But everybody did not want, what I had to sell. Heck, I couldn't even give it away to some people.
So, why do some sellers out there make thousands of dollars? And others, like me, can't even give the same product away? (I almost quit, before I answered that one.!!!)
I will go into more detail later about how I found all of this out , if you like, but right now I just wanted you to see the thought pattern I was in. To explain the path I went on and what I found out, would take a book. So, I will just tell you where I found it out.
I really wanted to find out my problem . So, I dug deep for answers. I read many books, watched many videos and took many motivational seminars, however, one small book hit it on the head. An old book, believe it or not. It was Og Mandino "The Greatest Salesman in the World." From that book, I found out, what all the other media platforms out there were saying. It gave me the strength to light a fire under myself one more time ,and to get going again. Now, when I talk to "my audience" about my journey to success, they will know what I am talking about. Because , now I will be able to give them the three continuity elements that will keep us all moving forward to our dream goals. See my blog for details. See You At the Top! Be There!
